Updates
and Rants

Updated January 30, 2009

Remember, I've got an update journal over at LiveJournal. Stop by. Drop off a link. It'll speed up the next update. Not really, but I can dream.

Something
I love,
something
I hate,
or a pain
I just
had to share.

Archive of Our Own
A multi-fandom archive created by the Organization for Transformative Works. The archive is currently in beta, but visit and take a look. And please, if you're an artist or writer or vidder, or just love your fandom and your freedom to create, this organization should be at the top of your bookmarks. I'm not going to try to explain who they are -- they do it much better. Go. Now. And after you've browsed the archive, Go to the OTW website.

New Links

Here they are, the new links -- gathered in one neat, cozy little section, for your surfing pleasure and my updating convenience.
Well, they may not be new to you, but they're new to this site, anyway.

The Sam/Dean Slash Archive
SPN. This is, as it says, a Sam/Dean slash archive for Supernatural fanfic. Recently updated after a long haitus. I checked the categories, and I must ask -- why does a site that calls itself "The Sam/Dean Slash Archive" have a gen section? Sounds like a silly question, but this archive only has two categories-- slash and gen. In my higher minded moments I think it's because slash fandom is inclusive rather than exclusive. We want everyone to feel welcome, as long as they bring their own lube and glitter. So much for higher minded moments.

Wranglers
Movie. This is an LJ community for Brokeback Mountain slash. It's big, as in lots of members. They tell you that on the info page. The name is actually Everything Brokeback Mountain: 2000+ MEMBERS!, but there was no way I was listing that as the link, it's just tacky. But it tells you what they do -- fanfic, fanart, reviews, discussion, life, love and everything Brokeback Mountain.

glassesreflect.net
Harry Potter. A collective that includes the Potter Slash Archive (Harry slash), Stag Night (James slash), Immortal Beloved (James/Harry slash) and the James-Fuh-Q-Fest (everything James). The adult content is password protected. You can get your password at their LJ com, here. Caution: The archives here appear to have been in mid-update for quite awhile.

Sick!Wilson Anonymous
House. An LJ com for those sick, sick people who want to see poor, sweet Wilson suffer. And for absolutely no good reason. Hurt, torture and abuse abound, but do they ever mention comfort? Easing his pain, stroking his poor, fevered brow? Not one word. And who doesn't want to comfort Wilson? It's not like he's House. Rebecca sent me this one, and see how I made her suffer? I thought she'd probably like that.

Sick!House Anonymous
House. This is more like it. Join this LJ com to torture the sick, twisted bastard. More harm! More Suffering! Interesting prompt table, but... Hay Fever? Hives? Flu? Does Wilson flattening him with a steam roller come under car accident?

house & chase
House. And where is the Sick!Chase community? This is as close as it comes, apparently, and they don't even demand you torture the back stabbing little crap weasel. OK, the adorable, sexy back stabbing little crap weasel. Slash and gen are both accepted. They don't mention het, but if you make the little crap weasel suffer for cheating on House with some skanky slut, they'd probably accept it.

Chase/Foreman Fic
House. Speaking of the cheating, back stabbing little crap weasel... There's no info on the user info page, but I'm not sure they really need any. It's obviously House, it's obviously Chase/Foreman, which means it's obviously slash. Outside of the obvious, everything is a mystery.

Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry
RPS. A community formed to celebrate the close, twisted friendship of Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry. They accept fiction, fan art, discussion, captions, and loud squeeing.

Wraithbait
SGA. A major archive for Stargate: Atlantis. They welcome all genres and pairings except RPS and underage fic. The archive is active, and has been updated recently. Categories are General, Ship Pairings, Slash Pairings, Bitextual, Threesomes and Moresomes and Crossovers.

Atlantica
SGA. An inclusive archive for SG:A. All ratings, all pairings. Categories are Het, Gen, Slash and HetSlash. Even though the archivist hasn't added any notes since 2007, the latest story update was last week. And do we really miss constant notes from the archivist? No notes mean no major problems.

McKay/Sheppard Slash
SGA. A very large, very high volume lj community for Stargate: Atlantis slash of the McKay/Sheppard variety. This link was donated by Peapods. They welcome fic, fanart, discussion, and I spotted vids, too. The community rules are simple -- be courteous, don't spam the community -- and sublime -- no hard coded font tags. I love that one so much I think I'll repeat it -- no hard coded font tags.

Crossroads
SGA Link site. A slash fanfiction index for Stargate Atlantis. They list over 3000 stories in 248 categories, but the index hasn't been updated in almost a year. For a real treat, pick a pairing and browse the thematic fic index. Mind boggling. Please note this is not an archive; the stories are not hosted on the site.

Time Travel
DrWho/LoM. An LJ community for posting Doctor Who/Live on Mars crossover fanfic. The user info isn't specific about what they accept, but I only had to open two stories to find slash. I want Gene/Doctor fic! I just want to know who ends up on top.

Small Fandoms Fest
Rare slash. An LJ prompt community for fandoms from television, movie, book, comic, anime, and video games. They accept fan fic and fan art in all ratings and pairings. There are thirty numbered rules on the info page. A fun place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Test Card Dream Girls
Life on Mars. This is an LJ com for fans of LoM. There's slash here, of the alternate alternate reality variety. Double, because alternate reality is to LoM, as slash is to QaF. So much for the fic. Here comes the warning: These people are extremely bitter about the final episode, which I thought was some of the greatest story telling I'd ever seen on TV, so obviously I don't belong here. You might, though, so check it out.

Grey's Anatomy Fanfiction
Grey's Anatomy. LJ community for... OK you've probably worked that one out. All fanfic, all genres, all rating. It's a large community and it's very active. Since it's all fanfic that means a lot of fic.

West Wing Fanfiction Central
Sorkinverse. The home for abandoned West Wing archives. You can locate slash stories in the National Archive and the Big Block of Cheese (you really had to be there). I give them 8 points for inspiration and 5 points for execution.

MTAC
NCIS. An archive/index for NCIS fan fiction. You need a Top Secret clearance or at least a little patience to learn more than that. Browsing the archive, I saw ratings that ranged from Young Teen to Mature Slash. The only categorization is by pairing, author and title. I found that a bit disturbing, but then I have a fondness for organization that this archivist apparently doesn't share. Somebody needs a slap upside the head. I will give them kudos for their associated community on LJ: NCIS Fic Finders.

NCIS Slashers
NCIS. An LJ community for those of us who want to watch Gibbs smear the Proby with extra chunky peanut butter and... OK, maybe not. I'm trying to wipe away the memory of the Tony Mpreg story that jumped out and smacked me upside the head, but that may take more than a peanut butter covered McGee. The community rules are very specific: no spoilers, no flames, no het/gen.

Numb3rs Don't Lie
Numb3rs. An LJ community for Numb3rs slash fanwork, stories, vids, fanart, etc. If you're new to the fandom, please note that Eppscest is rampant. Tacky, but I couldn't resist. It's a medium sized community, fairly active.

Numb3rs Fanfic Finders
Numb3rs. An LG community dedicated to locating all things Numb3rs. They'll help you find fic, graphics, vids, interviews, and anything else Numb3rs related. They tag everything, and the tag list is complete and impressive. Yes, they've even found wing fic.

Twilight fics
Twilight. An LJ community for Twilight fanfic, and a bit of fanart. The things I go through for you people. Do you have any idea how many Twilight fic sites I had to suffer through to find one that has slash? Do you have any idea how twee this fandom is? Better you than me.

Link Sites

Try one.
Try two.
Oh, go ahead,
try another one. You can never
have too many
slash links.

crack_van
A multi-fandom rec community on lj: all ratings, all pairings, gen, het and slash. Are you being seduced into a new fandom, and just hate that clueless-newbie feeling? Or are you pimping a new fandom to a friend and hate tracking down links? Check out crack_van, it's purposely, and perfectly, designed for pimpimg, self or otherwise. They have fandom explanations, character sketches, definitions of key fandom terms, and best of all, one of the largest story-link collections I've seen on lj. Recs are listed by fandom.

The Newbie's Guide to Fannish LiveJournal
Link site. This is the kind of site I dream of finding on those long, lonely, two in the morning where-the-hell-did-all-the-good-sites-go searches. Put this one on your flist. If you're not a member of lj, put it in your bookmarks next to crack_van and visit often. Yeah, it's that good. Maybe even better. It's an lj community that exists to list fandom lj communities. They're goal is to be a "bouncing off point" by collecting links that will interest fans, and listing them in an overview for each fandom. They're superbly organized, and most of the overviews of each fandom are dated. You can tell at a glance if the fandom overview you're looking at was updated last week, or last month, or last year.

Lotrips in a Box
A link site for Lotrips fandom. Listings include lj communities, archives, miscellaneous sites and author sites. I'm not sure how useful it'll be -- it hasn't been updated in almost a year. I'm including it for the list of author sites, since I don't list many of those.

The Fannish Directory
Currently this site has links in the following categories, some contain fanfic sites, some don't: Actors/Actresses, Anime, Books, Buffy/Angel, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Lord of the Rings actors, misc. movies, misc. TV shows, miscellaneous, Multifandom, Musicians, Pop, Queer As Folk, Smallville, Star Trek, Star Wars and X-Men. You can submit a link, but this is not an automatic link site -- all submissions are approved and added by the site owner. That's a big plus, since it cuts down on the people who figure they'll get more hits if they list their site in ten categories, whether they fit or not.

The Directorium
This fannish wiki site was sent to me by Ashlyn. It's one of those ambitious, let's list every site in fandom projects, but it's better than most. You can browse the listings by fandom, category, genre, actor, network, artist, medium or the decade the show aired. There's also a link to find other fans in your area, a user forum and an update RSS feed at lj. Like any add-your-site listing, it's only going to work if fandom participates, and if fandom reads the entire FAQ before adding listings.

Vox Populli
This is the index for all the author sites, domains, mailing lists and forums at populli.org, populli.net, and DitB.org. Can I make a suggestion? If you haven't already, bookmark this one. It's a major gateway for any serious slasher.

The Basement {Collective}
Dozens upon dozens of links to slash sites. Don't get too excited -- it's three pages of those bitching little button links, which, if you're very, very lucky, and if the designer isn't overwhelmed with her own cuteness, are almost legible enough for you to tell what the hell you're clicking on.

Whispered Words
A slash recommendations database. Search by fandom, or browse all the recs. Register, and add recs of your own. As of this writing, there are 876 recs in 107 fandoms. They also have a great links page.

The Hub
A selective listing of great X-Files sites.

Justacat's Slash Resource Site
A listing of slashfic rec sites, recommended stories, and archives for HP and due South fandoms. Plus Yahoo groups list, LiveJournals, and more. The same treatment for The Professionals is apparently on the drawing board, but she's changed "coming soon" to "coming eventually."

The BTVS Writers Guild
May the Fates protect us all from websites that have mission statements. This site is here to promote quality fanfiction for BTVS and ATS. Hot damn, we're saved! Actually, we're bored spitless. Now, if they were out to promote low, sleazey, corrupt-the-impressionable fanfic, I'd be out there waving their banner, but 'quality' is such a slippery, crap-weasley, we-know-what's-best kind of word. Five'll get you ten, these people believe their LOCs. OTOH, they have a fabulous (read: huge) listing of BTVS and ATS archives.

The Mammoth Index
This is an incredible resource for Xena fandom. They've got links for Art, Crossover Fan Fiction, Fan Fiction, Games, Merchandise, Fan Music, Music Videos, Non-English sites, Poetry and Filk, and Other. Good indexers never forget that all important Other category -- it saves so much time. I'm adding this site to the list of reasons I'm still very, very impressed with the folks over in Xena fandom.

Vids

Holy Bandwidth, Batman!

It's the themes, daaahling.
It's about the
subtle layers of meaning,
the infinite care taken with color and song choices,
the artistic vision,
the intricate story lines,
blah blah blah.

Me like pretty pictures. Ooooh, Clark. Ooooh, Duncan. Ooooh, Aaaaaangel. Preeeeetty.

The Torchwood Files: Videos from the Institute
Torchwood vids. Every once in a while I feel the need to repeat myself, so here goes: I just list 'em, people. Any community is going to take you on a ride through GoodBadandUgly land. Don't blame me for the billboards blocking the scenery, or the lack of rest stops.

The Impala: A Supernatural Vidding Archive
This is a very nice site, and it's a great bookmark if you're a Supernatural fan. Don't doubt that. However, and I know this doesn't matter to anyone but me, it's not an archive, it's a list of links. It's not an archive unless the vids/stories/whatever are hosted on the site. Luckily for all of us, but especially you, I sobered up and deleted the 5MB rant on Aristotle and the importance of the definition of terms. It still irritates the spit out of me though, so I'm sure we'll have this little discussion again another day, about another site.

Supernatural Vids A community for fan vids of Supernatural. I don't post a lot of vid communities, but this show is just so damn pretty, it must have vids. Don't miss: absolutely anything by Luminosity or Sisabet.

Vidding Discussion
Nothing slashy or sexy at all in that title, so what's it doing here and why did I interrupt your search for ever hotter and kinkier sex to list it? This is the premiere vidding community on LJ. This is where the best vidders on the net hang out and discuss their art. What makes it important to you? They announce their new vids here. All fandoms, all genres. You don't have to be a vidder to join, vid watchers are welcome, too. But if you show up over there moaning and bitching and trying to get someone to listen to your ground breaking, original idea for a Kirk/Spock vid to Stairway to Heaven, remember, I did not send you.

Battlestar Galactica Music Videos
I think this might be a very good time to remind everyone that just because I post a link here, it doesn't mean I'm endorsing the content. We all understand that, right? Good. This is an LJ community for posting BSG music vids.

Neptune Video
Another LJ vid community, which is a Very Good Thing. This one is for Veronica Mars, which is an Even Better Thing.

Lost Vids
Exactly what it says. Het, gen, slash, pretty much anything and everything goes. Meanwhile, back on the island...

LOST Video Island
They bill themselves as "the web's biggest collection of fan-made videos related to ABC's Lost," and I don't doubt it. Vids are sorted by category, character, and vidder. They've got a "Random Vid" link too, which is kind of fun. It's a gorgeous site, all the links I checked worked, and it's really easy to navigate.

Video Elite
If you're looking for music vids in your favorite fandom, this is the place to start. Dozens of links to vid sites. Over twenty fandoms are listed, plus multi-fandom sites. It's a wonderful resource for vid lovers.

Buffyverse Music Video Database
A searchable database of online vids for BtVS and Angel. Lots of links. Tons of links. I'm not kidding -- you have to see this site. This is how it's done, people. You'll think you've died and gone to Buffy vid heaven. Check it out, then go make one for your fandom. Every fandom that has vids needs a site like this one.

Luminosity's Vidworks
Vids by Luminosity, The Shimmertwins, Luminosity and Kamil, and OSF Productions. Highlander, Smallville, Buffy, Angel, and multi-fandom vids. Don't miss: absolutely anything by Luminosity.

Paper Cup
BtVS vids by here's luck. To quote from the opening page "Man, I suck." Don't you believe it.

Bloodrose Productions
BtVS vids. Spike lovers, be sure not to miss 'What Do I Have To Do.' And Navigator won't do it -- download it in IE.

BoniBaru.com
Vids for Firefly, Smallville and BtVS fans. Also links, fanfic, and all the extras you get at great web sites.

Chez Morgaine
BtVS and Xena vids. This site has a few problems, but it's worth trying for the vids anyway. Don't miss: The Faith vids.

Elephant Momentum
BtVS and Angel vids by sisabet and dr.dawn. Don't miss: Whatever.

Farscape Fantasy
Farscape music vids. Vids are posted at 12:01 am Dallas time. Enjoy.

AMV
Anime music vids. Lots of them. Also forums, FAQs, and hardware and software information for vidders.

Multi-fandom Archives

Nobody can eat just one:

Multi-fandom sites and archives,
for people with
way too much time on their hands.

The Archive at the End of the Universe
A Multi-fandom archive with some really interesting search options. It's hard to determine exactly how many fandoms are included here, because the categories list fandoms that have zero stories. But the search criteria -- oh, my. Breathplay? I've gotta check that one out. And what the hell is "Original character -- other gendered?" For experienced slashers only: check out the Book section. If you've been looking for Peter Pan or Moby Dick slash, here they are.

The Android's Dungeon
Want to see a classic example of piss poor organization? Start at the Universe Index, and click on Highlander. Don't get your hopes up. The Highlander link leads to a crossover Uncovered/The Breed story. Granted, it's the same actors, but does that make it a Highlander story? I think not. They do have a lot of fandoms, though. Correction: they have a lot of universes listed, in both movie and TV fandoms. Whether they actually have stories in those fandoms -- or whether they're as screwed up as the HL listing -- is something you're going to have to determine for yourself.

skyehawke dot com
They have three divisions, but the only one I'm concerned with here is the archive. The very BIG archive. It's a php-based archive, so it's going to remind you of a couple of not-to-be-named, not-so-great archives that haunt fandom. Don't be fooled -- this one is a good archive. I have a theory about that: delve beneath the surface at skyehawke and you'll discover a literate development team with --gasp-- a sense of humor. Stories are divided into six broad categories: anime/manga, book, games/comics, movie/television, original fiction and original non-fiction. Under the heading of Again and Again and Again -- please, do yourself and fandom a favor: read the terms of use.

coffeeslash
There doesn't seem to be a unifying principle here, unless it's simply: "Hey, let's gather great stories from fantastic authors and put them on one site!" Anybody object to that? I didn't think so. Fandoms represented include Highlander, Sentinel, ER, CSI Miami, and lots and lots of ST: Enterprise.

Realm of the Shadows
F/F slash in more fandoms than mousehounde and I could count, or at least, were willing to count. If you go look, and at first you don't believe that, check under Other. See? Told ya. Fandoms run from the commonplace (Buffy), to the rare (Matilda: The Movie). Also videos, links, and a nice size gallery of photomanips. I had only one reservation about this site. They use those blinking *New* icons that make you want to keep a fly swatter next to the monitor.

The Paradoxical F/F Archive
I have lots of good things to say about this archive. One, it's legible. Startling, and not my favorite color choices (black background, neon fonts), but legible. Two, the stories are text files (white background, black font), so downloading and printing are quick and easy on your printer cartridges. The stories are divided by fandom, then listed by author, with pairings clearly indicated, and email links to the authors are handy and easy to click on for sending that all important feedback. Three, the fandoms. It's primarily a Trek archive, but the archivist has recently begun adding other fandoms -- seventeen other fandoms, by my count. Four... four... I know there was a four, what was it? Oh, it's been updated recently. Very big plus.

noire.sensus
This site is gorgeous -- and legible, and easy to navigate. Fandoms include HP, Final Fantasy (insert Roman numeral here), PotC, and LotR, among others.

Fandomination.net
Scroll down to the very bottom of the site and click on Terms of Service. The best laughs are in the section on quality standards. Bonus points will be awarded to anyone who can make it through the section on ethics without snickering or losing their lunch.

IIBNF Press
Fanzines and online stories in Due south, X-Files, LotR, and other fandoms. And may I just say -- get those damn stars off of my cursor!

Wordsmiths
HL, TS, SV, M7, BtVS, and probably more. Fiction, media recommendations, topical essays, and interactive role playing, among other things.

German Speaking Slashers United
This is the archive of the Querstrich mailing list, and it has stories in more fandoms than you can shake a tube of lube at. Stories are presented in German and English.

Prettyboys, University
I hate this site. No, I really do. It's absolutely useless, but it just won't die. Every time I check the link, it's still there. Not updated and no easier to navigate, but still there.

Live, Grow Stronger, Slash Another Day
You can't talk about multi-fandom sites and leave out the House of Slack.  Well, you could, but it would be an awfully short conversation.  This is the spot where the RSM first crawled out of the primordial slash-ooze.  It's also the home of some of the nastiest, meanest, most creatively sordid muses on the net.  Even the Ur-Kronos muse walks softly around these guys.  Wise slashers will check the phase of the moon before visiting.

SlashCity
Yes, you're already here. But did you come in through the front door or climb in a window at the back? Slashcity is one of the fastest growing slash sites on the net. Slashcity.com/.tv/or .org -- whichever dot you visit, there's a lot of wonderful stuff in the city, and it's all waiting for you on the other end of this link. Tour buses leave every hour on the hour. Please keep your hands inside the bus, and don't tease the natives. They dressed up in those funky costumes for your amusement, so be polite.

SlashFanfiction.com
An automated archive operated by the people who brought you Slashcity. On my most recent visit, this archive was hosting 3854 stories by 970 authors. There was no count available on fandoms. The archive does accept stories with het "pre-slash" content, but they prefer that the authors provide warnings for het. That's my kind of archive.

The Multifandom Merry Go Round
I'm not putting in a lot of single-author sites, but I'm making an exception for a few of the best of them -- like this one. Amy writes everything, and she writes it all too damn well. Sometimes I just want to slap her, you know?

The flambeau factory
Another single author site. Torch writes in twenty-nine fandoms, several of which qualify as rare. How does she do that?

Teland
And yet another multi-fandom prolific author. Te writes Buffy, X-Files, Lost Boys, HCL, OTF, Sports Night, Oz, The Usual Suspects, Virtuosity, Angel, and on and on and on. Absolutely disgusting, isn't it?

Castle's Keep
I counted twenty fandoms. If I go back in half an hour, it'll probably be twenty-one.

The Wonderful World of Makebelieve Archive
I counted over 140 fandoms, I was only counting slash, and I stopped somewhere in the Hs. The categories are divided into specialty archives, so you can browse without accidentally tripping over any gen fic.

The Tifling Gateway
Multiple fandoms, movie slash, links, etc.

Any Road
Single author - multiple fandoms. Merry writes Highlander, Sportsnight, Sentinel, Smallville, Stargate, Stargate: Atlantis, Popslash and more. And she does it all well.

The Pink Rabbit Consortium
Multi-fandom archive for femslash, f/f fanfic, alt fic, or whatever the hell they decide to call it tomorrow.

The Glass Onion Archive
Archive of the Glass Onion mailing list. Slash/Het/Gen, any rating, any pairing. Stories (no RPS, no underage sex) are from multiple fandoms, including Angel, BtVS, West Wing, Smallville, Harry Potter, Star Trek, X-Files, Farscape, the Lone Gunmen, and my personal favorite, Other.

Data Annex Fan Fiction Archive
There is slash here, but not much. It's a multi-fandom archive, but there's no convenient listing of the fandoms they host. Overall, five points for style, but minus two points on the execution -- the lack of a simple fandom listing is really inconvenient.

The Full House Slash Archive
All together now -- Eeeewww! Ick! Ick! Ick! Actually, you can relax -- it's not really Full House slash, it's just another multi-fandom archive, but one with a very misleading name. The archive contains Andromeda, BtVS, Darkangel, Angel, Sentinel, Star Wars, Star Trek, CSI, JAG, Magnificent Seven, QaF slash, and more. There's also original fic.

SlashNexus
Mostly Sentinel slash, but there are a few stories from other fandoms sprinkled around -- Glory Days, Charmed, MutantX, Invisible Man, SG-1, plus some original fic.

The Battlefields of Slash
LoTR, A:TS, Buffy, B5, Star Wars, The Mummy, Dogma, Blake's 7, QaF US, Forever Knight, due South, SG1, HP, and RPS. They changed the colors! No more sludgy, mid-tone purple fonts on a dark background. Now it's purple and black fonts on a white background. Lovely, and oh so legible.

bfslash
The lj community associated with the Battlefields of Slash Archive. Acceptable posts include slash, het and gen fiction, meta discussion, jokes, fic links, and as far as I can tell, just about anything and everything related to reading or writing slash and/or adult fic.

the_rec_room
A multi-fandom lj rec community: any fandom, any pairing, any genre, any rating. This is not strictly a rec community. It's also a fic-finder community. Looking for a story you remember reading a long time ago where you think Methos was talking to Alice in Wonderland about mushrooms versus dandlion wine, just before Duncan beheaded the Queen of Hearts? They can probably help you find it. Looking for kink or specialty fic you haven't been able to find at all? Say, oh, hypothetically speaking, Mulder/Orlando/Kronos BDSM/Mpreg stories? They can probably help you find those, too. And they wouldn't even snicker at you while they did it. Much.

One By One
AKA, The Short Attention Span Archive. It's a multi-fandom archive, and it's for stories that are complete in one part. No WIPs, no stories with multiple parts -- one story, one chapter. Fandoms include AtS, BtVS, Carnival, HP, Joan of Arcadia, Lost, The OC, Roswell, and Veronica Mars.

Specialty Archives

Multi-fandom slash
archives
with a unifying
principle.

Oh, now that's just wrong.
Let me try that again...

Multi-fandom slash
archives
where the stories
have more than
slash in common.

Flagitious Abuse
A community that only exists to do horrible, unspeakable, really perverted things to... wigs. This is my kind of community. There don't appear to be any rules, but you know, I wasn't really expecting any. What do you want to see -- don't tease the synthetics? No nylon/real hair pairings allowed? Seemed to be mostly PotC fic now, but that could change with the next Ridley Scott movie.

polyfic
A community for fic, art, fic recs and meta discussion about polyamory relationships. That's threesomes, people. Or more than three, if the author can keep track of everybody's knees and elbows. Slash, femslash and het are allowed.

Slashspank
A multi-fandom LJ community for spanking stories. All whip-me beat-me make-me-dress-like-a-duck stories are welcome as long as the discipline is loving and consensual. This is not the place to post your non-con or domestic abuse stories.

The Angst Archive
We do love it when they suffer, don't we? If you're tired of deleting the romance and humor from your slash selections, try this one. All angst, all the time.

Remember Us
A multi-fandom, multigenre archive for stories about characters of color.

Lust in the Dust
Archive of the Lust in the Dust mailing list. Slash stories with a desert setting. Fandoms include: Gladiator, M7, Highlander, X-Files, Star Trek, Due South, Man From U.N.C.L.E., The Mummy, BtVS, and, oh yeah, Lawrence of Arabia, among many, many others. This archive is no longer being updated.

Menage á Trois: Household of Three Archive
Multi-fandom archive for threesome stories. A good idea, poorly executed -- and the pulsing brain on the entry page was pretty scary - even more so because it's somebody's idea of erotic. This site is worth mentioning because it's the only archive where I've seen story warnings for male stripping and pole dancing. Do you have to warn for pole dancing?

The Darkness Within
Multi-fandom specialty archive. The specialty is stories in which the main character is destroyed. Not killed, they're very specific about that. Destroyed. How cheerful. Het, gen, and a little slash. Lots of Buffyverse crossovers.

Spy Crossover Extravaganza
Check out the new special feature at bifictional bedlam. Challenge stories for spy fandom crossovers -- or rather, for any fandom that has in any way, at any time, ever done anything that comes close to, or resembles a spy story. Any rating, any length. At this point, stories are available for: Alias, Buckaroo Bonzai, MI-5, Spooks, and X-Files. The challenge is still open, there is no deadline.

We Invented the Remix... Redux
I'm going to let them explain the concept: "Ever read a fic and think, wow, what a fascinating story, but if I had written it, I would have... Well, now here's your chance to do just that. Rewrite someone else's story, tell somebody else's tale. Take the work of another person and wrap it up in your vision and style, just like a remixer does to songs." Note: all the participants volunteered their stories. Don't try this at home.

Slash Advent Calendar
Holiday stories and snippets in your favorite slash fandoms. Watch in amazement as your favorite pairing bend each other over the Yule log! Thrill to the excitement of well known characters finding creative new uses for eggnog and mistletoe! Something like that, anyway. I haven't been paying all that much attention.

101 Ways to End Up in a Canadian Shack
Sixty-two fandoms, thirty writers. As advertised, there are 101 stories (and a finale), and the only things they have in common are the length (very short), and that ubiquitous Canadian shack.

You Want Fries with That?
Multi-fandom fanfic formatted for reading on PalmOS (Palm, Handspring Visor,  Sony Clié, TRG Pro, Handera, IBM Workpad), Apple Newton, HP  Palmtop, Psion/EPOC PDA, TI Avigo, Franklin eBookman, or WinCE handheld device.

Flat MTN
Fanfic formatted for your PDA. Fandoms include: Buffy, Facts of Life, ST: Voyager, X-Files, and Xena.

First Time's A Charm
Slash from the Yahoo group of the same name. First time slash stories in 44 fandoms. They also accept submissions from non-list members. Recently updated, which is always a relief to see.

comicfic.net -- it's what's for dinner
They're baaaack! And, oh, how I missed them. This one is hard to characterize without telling too much. Even the stories are a challenge. Is it slash, or is it het? Maybe it's --- dare I say it? -- gen? If you never visited this site in it's former incarnation as the Itty Bitty Archive, run, do not walk, and check it out. If you've been there before -- go check out the redesign. These people are sick and twisted, but they're my kind of sick and twisted, and I love them for it.

Wake Up Gay!
This site hasn't been updated since May, 2002, it's not going to be updated, and the site owner has declared it Officially Dead. This isn't a site I recommend to the experienced members of fandom, not for random surfing, anyway. Save it for those nostalgic, deja brouhaha moments. But it should be required reading for fandom newbies. The whole Waking Up Gay phenomenon in fanfic is something one should be exposed to early. Like measles.

MPREG
"The only archive that should provide barf bags as a community service." -- Amy
They changed their URL again. They didn't do a very good job though, one half-hearted google search later and I found them, damn it. Just file this one under 'there's no accounting for taste,' and don't bug us about it -- it's not our fault. In case you've been hiding under the bed, it's a multi-fandom archive for Male pregnancy fic.

formpregarchive
Not my fault. So not my fault. The Mpreg archive has an lj community. They don't list any rules or information on their userinfo page. They don't even have a link to the archive. They do have stories.

deppmpreg
RPS, Johnny Depp. Hah! You laughed and pointed while I wept about Orlando mpreg, didn't you? Well, JD fandom, share my pain. They have lots of stories waiting for you at this Johnny Depp mpreg lj community. Teach you bitches to snicker at me...

Sneezefic Archive
"MPREG's not looking so bad now, eh?" -- mousehounde
Just what it says, with stories in het, gen, and slash varieties. And it's affiliated with a list. Really. Nobody could make this up. And thank you, mousehounde. What would I have done without this one?

The Erotic Mind-control Story Archive
Multiple fandoms and lots of original fic. Categorized by flavor of kink for your reading convenience.

Laura's Spanking Corner
Original fic, mostly of the girl's school variety. One of the classic spanking sites.

Godawful Fan Fiction
They've been searching the net for godawful fan fiction since 1998, and they're willing to share the trauma with you. The site has reviews of and links to fan fiction from fifteen fandoms, plus crossovers. Most of the fic is exactly as bad as you think it will be -- the rest of it's even worse.

The Mary Sue Society
This one's just too easy. The temptation to say something snotty is almost overwhelming. I shall, however, prove my maturity by resisting temptation -- just this once. I'm not going to make a habit of it, or anything. I'll let the Mary Sue Society speak for themselves: "Mary Sues serve a psychological need: they make their creators happy." Stop snickering. It's not polite.

S.P.A.N.K. M.E.
Society for the Promotion Advancement and Necessity for Kilts on Men Everywhere. Complete with a small fic archive, and a slightly larger photo archive. All that and slash, too.

Rare Slash

Bright pink
in the
middle:

Slash so rare
it bleeds

Indeed, Sir
A fannish community for Jeeves and Wooster. If you haven't read the stories by PG Wodehouse, or at least watched the delightful TV adaptations with Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, you probably should. I'm reliably informed that this community is slash friendly, but there's a lack of useful information on the user info page. Let's just assume it is, and let them kick us out if we get rowdy.

Excellent Omens
Good Omens. This is a rec lj for Good Omens fanfic. It's a single person site, not a community, but if you're looking for rare fanfic, you take the links where you find them and say thank you very much.

Thousand Ships
An archive for fanfic based on Classical Greek and Roman mythology. Gen, het and slash. It's small. It's unusual. It's mostly harmless.

vintagefic
Lj fic community for book, tv and movie-based fic set before 1939. Lots of smaller, obscure fandoms are represented here. Welcomes slash, het and gen.

rarelitslash
An lj community for posting rare or unusual bookbased fanfic. The community was slash only until January 2005, but now accepts het and gen fic, also. Absolutely no LotR or Harry Potter fic allowed. Well, they did say rare or unusual, and they meant it. Fandoms represented iinclude Winnie the Pooh, Bleak House, Brideshead Revisted, Ender's Game, The Great Gatsby, and many, many others.

The Dark is Rising Slash Archive
A small archive for a small fandom. But we're slashers, we know that size doesn't matter. It's easy to read, easy to navigate, and it's been recently updated. It's based on the ubiquitous archive style sheet -- you'll recognize it when you see it. But that's cool -- it means their JavaScript works. Remember the days when every other fandom site you visited had horrible JavaScript errors? You miss those days, don't you? Thought not.

While We Tell of Yuletide Treasure
More Xmas-themed stories, but these are in obscure fandoms. And some of them are pretty damned obscure -- Wheehee! Barrayar fic, at last! Rejoice with me as I do the Vor Mirror Dance of Ecstasy! Ok, I'm better now. Some of the stories are in well-known fandoms, but are twisted crossovers or odd pairings, and some of them are just, well, odd. But I'm all in favor of odd, it's too much normal that scares the hell out of me.

Salty Seamen
Yes, I triple checked the spelling of the name. An archive for stories inspired by the fiction of Patrick O'Brien and others. Pairings include Aubrey/Maturin and Bolitho/Dancer. And that's all I can tell you because I have no earthly idea what this is about. I am, however, going to ask mousehounde. She'll know, and I'll get back to you as soon as she explains it to me.

The Original Slash Archive
Not original as in 'first,' original as in 'not fanfic.' You know, Original Characters. All original characters. I'm putting it here because, well, I couldn't think where else to put it. Miscellaneous fandoms? It's not fandom related -- that's kind of the point. Multi-fandom? Same problem.

Beverly Hills 90210
Bare bones, and there's not much there yet, but it's slash.

Challenge-Land
An archive of fic written for challenges. No, that's not rare, but some of the fandoms are. In a quick tour I ran across the Usual Fandoms of X-Files, Red Dwarf, due South, Harry Potter, Spiderman, LotR, Buffy, and Smallville, but I also saw some Chronicles of Narnia, Gangs of New York, and Firefly fic. And I by no means looked at everything.

Turkish Delights
A Narnia fanfiction archive. Automated. Searchable. Very small, so the search shouldn't take long.

Slashville
They've got your standard slash fare -- you know, Highlander, Oz, and the Buffster type slash. And then they've got your not so standard slash fare -- BUGS, Coronation Street, Diablo (yeah, the Sony Playstation Diablo), Reservoir Dogs, Walker, Texas Ranger, and Scooby Doo, among others. Listen, if Scooby and Shaggy are getting it on, I don't want to know about it, OK? Velma and I will go wait in the van.

Silverlake
This site is too concerned with it's own PC-ness to be truly user-friendly. There are lots of well known fandoms, but they've also got rarer fandoms ranging from 24 to Boy Meets World to Six Feet Under. There's also something that looks like it's probably RPS, if you're at all squicky about that sort of thing. They seem to have some slash, some gen, and presumably some het. I say 'seem to' because it's hard to tell what you're getting by looking at the ratings or summaries. Click at your own peril -- their reluctance to provide clear labels means you may step in something smelly, or even het-like

Oblique Publications -- A slash archive
A treasure trove for collectors of rare slash. The stories are in pdf format, and among the fandoms represented on the site are: Adam Dalgliesh, Blackadder, Dalziel and Pascoe, Inspector Morse, Jeeves and Wooster, Lord Peter Wimsey, Sherlock Holmes, Northern Exposure, Tarzan, Wiseguy, and For the Greater Good. There are also stories from more well known fandoms, such as The Professionals, SW:TPM, and ST:TNG.

SlashCom
Website of the SlashCom mailing list -- dedicated to slashing situation comedies and comedy-dramas. Been looking for 'I Dream of Jeannie' slash? Really? I was just kidding, but if you want it, they've got it. Along with Blackadder slash, 'Allo, 'Allo slash, Drew Carey Show slash, Caroline in the City slash, and many others, strange or obscure. Sometimes, strange and obscure.

BritSlash Fiction Archive
They moved, but mousehounde tracked them down. This is one of my favorite slash sites. Try this one for a taste of slashfic for shows from across the pond. What the hell is Drop the Dead Donkey, anyway?

Bill and Steve's Excellent Adventure
Silicon Valley slash. If you need more explanation than that -- don't go here. If you don't want to imagine Brother Bill sans clothes, don't go here. BTW -- they've got some great links.

Fabulae
Archive of the Fabulae mailing list, and no, I have no idea what that is. But it appears to be multi-fandom and slash friendly. Lots of familiar fandoms that don't qualify as rare, but... Sweet Valley High slash? Yeah, OK, that's rare enough for me.

Femgeeks dot net -- for chicks with byte...
Formerly known as the Rare Slash Archive. I think. At least, this is where the old link leads to these days. The Femgeeks host eight archives including Rare slash,  Musician slash, Depeche mode slash, Tolkien slash, Lit slash, and RPS. I recommend you stop by and take a look at this one, if only for the sheer elegance of its appearance. But while you're there, take a break from browsing the archives and check out the projects link.

Sacrilege!
Holmes/Watson slash. Yes, that Holmes and that Watson.

Swamp Thing Fan Fiction Archive
I'm not kidding, it's really there. Would I bother to lie to you?

The Sharpetorium
Sharpe smut. They're probably kidding about the barnyard animals. Maybe. Somebody go check.

This Side of Paradise
Multi-fandom site. Qualifies as rare because of the Stephen King slash. Don't miss Valeria's Fan Fiction Drinking Game.

Tiriel's Treats
Gateway for three archives: The Bookhouse Boys -- Twin Peaks slash (the owls may not be what they seem, but they do serve a damn fine cup of coffee); On the Q.T. -- L.A. Confidential slash archive; 19 Haven St. -- First Wave fic.

Slash Cotillion
Historical slash, fanfiction, and original fiction. There's RPS at this site: Historical slash - Real People. Think about it, it'll come to you.

Phantom's Adult Transformers Archive
Luminosity sent me this one. I notified her family and they're watching her meds.

Battlestar Galactica

BSG Classic
BSG03

Lubing a classic Cylon
might be entertaining,
but lubing an '03 Cylon
would be a night
to remember.

Battlestar Galactica 2003 Unofficial FanFiction Archive
You know I've got to ask, right? Is there an official BSG fanfiction archive out there somewhere? Stories are listed by author, by challenge, by character, and by "relationships." They also have listings for Action stories, AUs and crossovers. And the listings aren't bare bones, either. They list author, date posted, word count, category, pairing, rating, and whether it's part of a series. Did I mention the art? They have ton o' fan art. They also have several skins, but that never excites me.

galacticafics
I think this archive is supposed to be a deep dark secret. So how did I stumble across it? I honestly don't remember. I wade in a lot of murky shit looking for links. And how did I know it's BSG03? Good question. I played with the search engine. It's not like there's anything on the main page to let you know what fandom you're wading around in. I mean no-thing. There's a decent amount of fic though, some from authors I recognized, and some of it quite recent, so it's not an orphan-archive.

Battlestar Galactica 2003 Fics & Pics
An LJ community for Battlestar Galactica 2003 fanfic and fanart. The community is het, slash and gen friendly. Not a squee community, so if you want to drool about the actors, go elsewhere. But if you want fics and pics, this is the place.

Battlestar Galactica slash fic and chat
An LJ community for Battlestar Galactica 2003 fanfic and chat. Het and gen are welcome, but the community is primarily slash.

By Your Command
Battlestar Galactica slash. Forget light sabers -- how do you lube a Cylon?

House

Our House
is a very,
very, very
nice house.

Did you get
through that
without snickering?

Really?

Are we
watching
the same show?

All House Slash, All the Time
An LJ community for House slash. You never would have figured that out on your own, would you? As long as it's about House, and it's slash, it's welcome here, which means fic may be FPS or RPS. Also fanart, wallpaper, and anything else you can make slashy is welcome.

Grabbing His Cane: The House/Wilson LJ Community
As you can see by the site name, it's an LJ community. It's House. It's for discussion, fanfic, fanart, graphics, "wild speculation," etc., about the House/Wilson dynamic. Dynamic -- I love it. Is that what we're calling hot monkey sex these days? It's so hard to keep up.

The House Fan Fiction Archive
Dorothy sent me my first link for House fanfic. This archive is for all ratings, all categories, and it's mean and lean. It's attractive, which is cool, but it's obvious the archivist chose to use her time working on the organization, not the pretty, which is even better. Pretty is only pixel deep, a good search engine is forever.

House Fan Fiction
An LJ community for all genres of House fic -- slash, gen and het. Discussion is permitted, as long as it applies to plot lines and/or characters. Fan art is welcome, too.

Supernatural

He's not
slashy,
he's my
brother.

Oh, wait, backup...

SPN First Time
An LJ com for lovers of Supernatural, and my fellow First Time enthusiasts. Stop by for the eye candy, the romance, the drama, the unmatched erotic tension of a first time between two gorgeous men. Stay for the eye candy, the romance, the drama, the unmatched erotic tension of a first time between two gorgeous men.

Supernatural Slash Talk
Supernatural discussion community, with fanfic, art, icons, etc. Keep the discussion slashy people. That's kind of the point here.

Supernatural Fiction and Art
This link comes from maygra, who is almost single handedly responsible for the Mag 7 section. This one is an lj community for Supernatural, and when they say fiction and art, they mean it -- no discussions about the show or the actors, no introductory posts. FPS and RPS fic is accepted, and -- oh joy -- the moderators put all the fic posts in the memories. God, I love that. It's a small thing that makes a big difference. I love lj, but it's not a great archiving tool. Don't you love paging back, back, back through an lj searching for part 5 of a 34 part story because the author doesn't put anything in memories? Memories are your friend.

spnnewsletter
A lovely resource for Supernatural fandom. This lj community posts daily updates on news, meta posts, challenges/ficathons, communities, episode reviews, recs and other miscellaneous goodies, fanfic, songvids, fanart , and screencaps. Check in here once a day and you won't miss out on a single good fic or fandom kerfluffle happening on lj. How could you possibly resist?

Ghost Hunters Supernatural Fanfiction Archive
It's new, it's small. It's automated. It's also cute and it defines Supernatural fandom -- if you exclude incest from the search results you get zero search results. This fandom is so twisted -- gotta love that.

Supernatural Slash
An LJ community for Supernatural slash, and only slash. No gen of any persuasion. Pre-slash stories are welcome. UST stories are welcome. You can see the slash if you squint real hard and think dirty thoughts stories are not welcome. FPS only. Slashy fan art is also welcome.

Supernatural Fanfiction
A fic only community for Supernatural. All genres are allowed -- gen, het and slash -- and all non-fic posts will be deleted. One quick note on the community rules -- a rule that strongly enourages the use of betas is a Good Thing. But when you have to explain what a beta does, you're probably pissing into the wind.

Keep it in the Family
An LJ community for posting anything having to do with the relationship between the Winchester brothers on Supernatural. Take any warnings you feel you need from the title, and leave me out of it.

Sinful Desires
FPS and RPS. Two archives for the price of one -- FPS and RPS. Also AIM icons, LJ icons, wallpaper, fan videos and LJ headers. The fandom is still new, so it's recently and frequently updated. Enjoy it while it's still shiny. No links of interest, but it's early days yet.

SPN Prompts
A Supernatural LJ challenge community with an interesting take on the challenge scenario -- fics are based on images posted to the community. It's samll, but it's weird.

The Young Winchesters
An Lj community for Supernatural stories set before the series takes place. All genres are welcome -- gen, het and slash. Also welcome are stories set in the present that contain flashbacks. Warning: I'm not investigating this one too closely. There's just something about the combination of slash and the phrase "totally adorable as kids" that makes my teeth itch. Enter at your own risk.

Lost

Deserted island,
good looking men,
strange, rustling noises
in the bushes....

the strange,
rustling noises
would be
the slashers,
of course.

The LOST Fan Fiction Archive
Lost fic, obviously. The archive accepts FPS stories in all-pairings, all-genres, and all-ratings. Does not accept stories containing Mary Sue's. Gotta love that.

A World Away: The Lost Slash Archive
Not very large, yet, but it's a relatively new fandom. Stories are listed by author, by title, and by category (read: pairing). There's nothing exceptional about the archive structure, but there's nothing to complain about either. Makes for a boring listing, doesn't it?

Lost - Fanfic
Story categories are Conventional, Unconventional, Slash/Multiple, and General/Non-shipper. Don't ask -- I have no idea what Unconventional means in this fandom. The archivist reserves the right to refuse submissions, and apparently she's very picky. The submission guidelines insist that "all stories should have paragraphs and spacing in between them." High standards like that kind of get your hopes up, don't they?

Fic in a Bottle
FPS and RPS. LiveJournal fic only community. Genres include het, gen, slash, crossovers and AUs.

Lost Slash
An exclusively slash LiveJournal community for Lost. No het, no RPS.

Lost RPS
RPS. A Lost RPS fic LiveJournal community.

For England
James Bond. James Bond slash, mainly Goldeneye. Lolana contributed this link, ages and ages ago, but we all know how behind I've been. This community is for stories slashing James Bond and/or Alec Trevelyan. FPS and RPS accepted. All RPS must include either Pierce Brosnan or Sean Bean. Personally, I think it should all have to feature Beanie. Preferably moist and sans shirt.

Bent-Back Tulips
AtU. A slash community for Across the Universe. All slash pairings are welcome. They accept fanfic and fanart, and the mods will tag it for you. I especially like that part. The mods won't be tempted to stretch the tags hoping for more feedback.

Fanfiction for the Movie Across the Universe
AtU.All pairings and ratings welcome. The name of this community is either the one above, or "Lend Me Your Ears and I'll Sing You a Song." I'm not sure it matters since they both suck. Someday I'd like to get everybody in LJ in one room and explain the difference between a name, a user name, a title and a theme.

BrokebackSlash
Brokeback Mountain. A community for people who really, really need a Brokeback Mountain fix. This is a huge community, and it's very active. Just scrolling through the tags made me dizzy. OK, it made me drool too, but that's probably TMI. They allow art, poetry, and anything fanfic related, including humor. Yes, humor. They had to mention that specifically. They also felt they had to include links to define parody. I love these little windows into a fandom. They had to specifically state that humor is allowed. Sorry. I just keep getting stuck there.

Brokeback Mountain Fan Fiction
Brokeback Mountain. Fan fiction and artwork inspired by Brokeback Mountain. All ratings are allowed. Discussion or question posts must be "thought provoking, not frivolous." Sometimes it's so easy it's not even worth the effort to mock. I wonder if these people allow humor?

spideyslash
Spiderman Spiderman slash community -- fiction and icons for the movieverse and the comic. No exclusively het fics allowed, but they do allow all other genres, pairings and ratings, including RPS. I love it when they give me those kind of essentials on the userinfo page. You wouldn't believe the hours I spend trying to tease that kind of information out of the content. Hours and hours and hours -- most of it spent skimming really bad fic -- and sometimes I still can't tell what the hell an archive or community is for. These mods cover all the bases, and they actually use the memories feature. Bless their webby little hearts.

Troy Slash
Troy This large lj community is for slash based on the movie Troy. They accept fics of all ratings, and discussion of the delightful slashiness in Troy, The Illiad, and The Odyssey is welcome. Stories with het elements are welcome, as long as they're clearly labeled. The guidelines don't specifically state whether RPS is welcome, but I browsed a bit -- ok, more than a bit -- and didn't see any.

You Strike Me Still
I'm trying to think of a pair of characters who are less deserving of a rain of little pink hearts on their "one and only" web page, but I'm drawing a blank. Let's pause a second while I reload my brain. Most of the stories here are based on the movie Alexander, but there are a few historical fics, too. They've got quotes, a gallery, links, multimedia (icons and trailers), and some links I was scared to click. And lest we forget, they've got those floating pink hearts on the main page.

BBI Chronicles of Buckaroo Banzai and the Hong Kong Cavaliers
Fanfic for one of the slashiest movies ever made from a comic book. Seriously. Just close your eyes every time Ellen Barkin comes on screen, and the rest of the movie is slash heaven. The stories here are all ratings, all genres. They also have links, writer resources, orphaned plot bunnies and challenges.

tweaked fiction
Fan fic based on the movie The Faculty. This site makes me feel like I've stepped into an information black hole. I know that some of the fic is slash, but only because I recognize titles and authors, not because they actually tell you anything that useful. I don't know if there's any het or gen mixed in with the good stuff. Not that I actually care about het and gen, you understand, but still, slashers deserve warnings too, don't we?

jacked_up: Guaranteed to jack you up
I so didn't need another fandom, but as long as I'm here, I'll share. This is an lj community for Faculty slash, all pairings, all ratings, RPS and FPS. Stories are linked in the community archives by length, pairing and rating.

caseyzeke: One of us is a decoy
An lj community for smut about Casey/Zeke from The Faculty, FPS and RPS. Besides fanfic, acceptable posts include discussion, pictures, news, and theories. Theories about what, they don't say.

A Knight's Tale
A Knight's Tale. This is an archive for slash fiction for A Knight's Tale fandom. I'm going to do everyone a favor and resist the almost overwhelming temptation to rant about people who don't understand title tags. No, I'm not -- according to the title bar on my browser, the main page of this site is titled "A Knight," and the title of the links page is "New Page 1."

Walk of Shame
Het and slash fic archive for the Sorority Boys movie mailing list. It's pink and white, with high heels. The website, not the mailing list.

Gladiator
Yes, it's fic, mostly slash, inspired by the movie Gladiator. And it looks fine, until you actually click on a story. I doubt she formatted the stories that way on purpose. At least, I hope not.

Diva Vexa Aeturna
Gladiator fic, all ratings. Not Netscape friendly. Not even a little bit.

Great & Fabulous
Fan fiction inspired by the motion picture Ned Kelly. There's slash, of course.

Fight Club Slash Archive
Just the fic, ma'am. The entire site is as clean and unpretentious as its name. No RPS or underage slash allowed.

Touch My Stump
An automated archive for Hard Core Logo fandom. Visit. Read. Upload your HCL stories. And while you're doing it, take shit from nobody. Just my little happy thought for the day.

VG Fairy Stories 2000
I don't name 'em, I just link to 'em -- but that names's kind of catchy, isn't it? Velvet Goldmine slash from the VGFairyStories2000 mailing list, complete with info for joining the list, which is always nice to have.

Satellite of love
Velvet Goldmine archive. Het, gen, slash, filk, crossovers, AUs. No RPS, no explicit under-age sex.

Shanghai Slash
Slash for the movie Shanghai Noon. This is the archive for the Shanghai-slash mailing list, but non-members are encouraged to submit their fic, too. Like I tell my Methos muse, it's small, but it's pretty.

The Marrow Life
Archive of Dead Poets Society slash. It has more stories than I expected to find. Also has images.

JayandSilentBob slash
It didn't mean anything to me either, but Zen and Moonpuppy took pity on me and explained it to me. Slowly. In words of one syllable.

Loving Lecter
Maybe slash, maybe not. But you didn't really think I'd be able to resist listing this one, did you? This site is for Hannibal Lecter fanfic. BYOFB.

JP3 Alan and Billy List and Archive
Jurassic Park 3 slash. I was going to list it in the miscellaneous section, then I saw this note on their link page: "alan and billy pages -- None right now. If you find any, let us know."

Fluent Fag
Bring it On slash archive. You know, Bring it On, that cheerleader movie. Yeah, I didn't know it either. Stories are listed by author, by title, and by pairing. Quite a few stories, but only one link -- to the official movie site.

League of Extraordinary Fanfiction
Archive for League of Extraordinary Gentlemen fan fic, including slash. Also fan art, resource links, and essays.

Seize the Night
An archive for slash fic inspired by the movie Newsies. Stories are indexed by pairing and by author. There are also links, galleries that aren't worthy of the name, and a really irritating animated gif on the main page. Do I need to mention the dark blue font on the black background, or are you getting the idea?

The Richie/Methos Slashfic List Archive
As strongly as I feel about Methos/Anybody-but-Duncan fic, I promise that I didn't overlook listing this site for so long on purpose. It was an oversight. An unfortunate mistake. A tragic accident. It wasn't deliberate, all right? My most abject and insincere apologies to all Richie fans everywhere. Is that enough groveling? It's listed now, so shut the fuck up.

highlander_lj
Lj community for Highlander fandom. Note that this is not a fic only community; discussion, drooling, pic posts, and gossip are allowed. According to the moderators, the community is slash biased, but not slash exclusive. Fic posted can be any rating, any pairing, but absolutely no RPS allowed.

highlander_ rps
RPS. Little bitty lj fic community. Almost miniscule, even. So small that if they were any other fandom, I'd probably not list them, but... Highlander? I'm so proud of these eight women I could spit. I mean, really -- RPS? In Highlander? In the meanest, most conservative fandom on the internet? I'm impressed right down to my socks. You go girls.

Amandaslash
This archive is small, but tasty. I'd include Amanda in that description, but she's actually quite tall, and I have no idea what she tastes like. A few stories, a few images, a few links, all attractively presented. Well, that goes without saying -- it's Amanda, after all.

The ROG-L Guide to Highlander on the Web
I'm maintaining yet another link page. Sigh. It's my own fault. I whined and groveled on the Really Old Guy list, and the list members actually listened to me, bless their hard little hearts. They sacrificed their time, energy, and lots and lots of bandwidth, searching the web for every HL site they could find. Then we deleted all the sites that consisted of one page with a picture of Methos on heart-covered bright pink wallpaper, with blinking text reading "I Drool for Methos," and a midi of "Princes of the Universe." We ended up with a list that consists of the great sites, the good sites, and the sites that didn't make our brains melt. Enjoy.

The Seventh Dimension Highlander Fan Fiction Archive
Every night I say a little prayer; "Please God, please don't let Ann get hit by a bus tomorrow."  Her wonderful HL archive now hosts over 3000 stories: gen, het, and lovely, lovely slash. For visiting with an old favorite or discovering a new writer, there's no place else like it in HL fandom.

The Highlander Quill Club
"Come upstairs and let me show you my etchings, little girl." Just when we think we've seen everything, Eng comes up with new ways to delight and amaze us.  A wonderful HL archive, of course, along with pictures, postcards, contests, screen captures, other assorted Highlander goodies, and topping it all off -- Eng's Etchings. And while I've got your attention, let me just add this -- as far as I know, it's the only place on line where you can be thrilled and amazed by cm decarnin's legendary, must read HL opus: And Hades Followed Him.

Futures Without End
Web edition of the best HL zine, bar none. Editions one through four are available through this link. Great stories, beautifully presented, and illustrated with some of the best fan art on the net.

Wordsmiths --- on line publishing
Fiction, links, rants, resources, and poetry. Then more fiction, more links, media resources, and yes, more fiction.

The Methos Boxer Brigade
Boxer fic! Toe fic! Popsicle fic! Highlander, of course, and if I have to explain it, you probably can't handle it. Plus there are links, intelligence reports, con pics, essays, and more. There are even recipes: first, you skin a pig...

The ROG-L Recommended Reading List
Not an archive, but I'm doing the typing so I get to list it anyway. It's a list of HL stories, all of them involving Methos, that are recommended by the members of the ROG-L mailing list, with links to the archives or author pages where the stories can be found. And it's just been updated -- all the links work. Better catch it now, that'll probably last for, oh, at least a week or two.

Blood, Love & Rhetoric
She's one of my favorite HL slash authors so I'm listing her here, even though she writes in several fandoms. Expand your horizons, check out Sleeps with Coyotes' fanfic. Warning: she's just a bit... insane. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Seacouver
It's not strictly an archive -- OK, it's not an archive at all, but I'm listing it anyway. It's a multi-author, multi-fandom site, but most of the fic, and what all the authors have in common, is Highlander, hence the name. The authors currently residing in Seacouver are Killa, elynross, Taz, and the incomparable Illuferret. In my humble opinion, this is one of the top three sites for great HL slash on the net. At Seacouver, not only is there not a bad one in the bunch, there's not a mediocre one in the bunch. When you visit Seacouver, you just have to settle for excellence.

Not a word

Capes are so slashy.

The Smallville Slash Archive
The fandom may be relatively new, but the people running this archive have obviously been around for awhile. Very well done.

The Level Three Records Room
Sister archive to the Smallville Slash archive, this one is the archive of the Level Three mailing list, and welcomes all ratings, pairings, and genres.

LexSlash
Fanfiction (see name of site for details), episode transcripts (in .pdf format), links, video clips, sound bites, recs, and eye candy. One stop shopping.

small town girls
The archive of the smallville femslash mailing list. If you're surfing with Netscape, don't even wait for the page to finish loading. Go straight to view and click on Text Zoom. Your eyes will thank me.

first down: the whitfic archive
Archive for Whitney Fordman fanfic. The archive has slash and het fic, and the archivist says they would accept gen -- if someone would write some.

Tall Tales
An automated archive. Accepts gen, het, and slash. Most of what I saw during a quick tour was het, but there was a spattering of slash. The stories are listed by author and title, with no provision for searching by character, pairing, rating, or genre. In other words, you gotta wade through a whole lot of '"Oh, Clark!" Lana simpered, wondering if her dead parents, tragically killed in the meteor shower, had ever done this,' to get to '"Oh my God, Lex!" Clark moaned as his eyes rolled back in his head.'

Faramir Fiction Archive
Damn, there it is, right on the opening page, right there in front of godandeverybody: male-on-male sex. One of those males is going to be Faramir, Boromir's much loved, under-appreciated younger brother from LotR. There's gotta be lots of angst here -- I'd bet on that without even looking. Didn't that hopeless charge just tear you're heart out? Besides the fiction archive, they've got a picture archive (fanart, not screencaps), and an interactive story. It's very attractive, too. Elegant, restrained. Almost tasty.

King and Herald
An archive for Elrond/Gil-galad fic. When you visit this archive, I want you to keep in mind that there are archives out there so bad even I won't list them. The most offensive thing here is some mildly mediocre fanart. Ok, so it's god-awful fanart. I was trying to be nice. I do that occasionally, not that anybody ever notices.

The LotR BDSM Dungeon
Does the site name not say everything that needs to be said? Maybe not. Let's see if I can add anything useful. It's an lj fanfic community. It's LotR -- NOT Lotrips. Discussion is allowed. Pimpage is encouraged. They have an intelligent rating system -- warn for NC-17, warn for Strong R, warn for Gen so the people looking for the NC-17 stuff can avoid it.

Meddling in the Affairs of Wizards
LotR. A Gandalf slash archive. How cool. It's about time the old guy got some. And in his own archive, too. Fics are sorted by pairing. Oh, look -- Gandalf/Legolas stories! I didn't see any Gandalf/Sam stories, but I'm not complaining. Really, I'm not.

Henneth Annûn
The archive of the Henneth Annûn list. Accepts quality LotR fic of any rating, any genre, any character. At this writing, the archive houses 997 stories, which you can sort by any combination of author, era, genre, or character, or you can get the entire listing and browse on your own.

AL Slash Archive
More Aragorn/Legolas fic. Archive of the AL Slash mailing list. It has a very few stories involving someone, or something, else, but not many. There's also a little bit of fan art, and... I was going to say links, but they only have one link listed that isn't a webring. These people don't get out much. I wonder what they're doing in there? Not much apparently, the archive hasn't hasn't updated since 2005.

West of the Moon
Slash and gen. Those are the only fic categories they list. I wondered if they put the het in with the gen, but I looked and I didn't see any. I saw lots of 'Frodo and Sam do this...' 'Frodo and Sam do that...' in the gen story summaries, and I had to wonder if Frodo/Sam counts as het. In LotR fandom, stranger things than that are considered normal. Also links, slash-poetry, and lots of LotR event reports.

Longing...
Welcome to Hobbit love central, where all things with furry feet flourish. It's Hobbit slash. With tiny little Hobbit titles, and tiny little Hobbit toes, and tiny little Hobbit whatevers. Also a fan art gallery, screencaps, and links. It's one page of story titles, so it doesn't really matter how they're sorted, does it? Also, I couldn't find any reference to when it was last updated. Yes, I look for things like that. They do have an update link, but that page has nothing so prosaic as actual dates.

Anuonnen
Mpreg. It hurtsss us, preciousss, it hurtsss us! The stories are painful enough, but they've got fan art and photomanips, too. But could I just note that and move on? Of course not. I had to check out the pages to make sure the links work. They do. I did this for you, you know. I don't look at this stuff for my own amusement. Pregnant Legolas isn't my thing. My squicks aside, it's actually a very attractive, well organized archive. So why do I still feel like I need to take three showers and disinfect my loofah?

Meduseld
You're looking for Eomer, fic, right? Or maybe nothing that specific -- how about just the Rohirrim in general? Pounding hooves, racing hearts, sweaty men on horseback? You found it. Gen, het, slash, humor, dark fic, adventure, poetry, songfic, and more. Plus links, chat and art.

Bagenders
What can I say about a site where chapters have summaries like: "Pippin's porn collection reaches critical mass?" They call it extreme silliness, but I'm not sure that description is, uh... extreme enough. Gen, slash, smut, and their unique take on mpreg. And I'm not going to complain about the mpreg -- no, I'm going to save my complaining for the lack of contrast. They never did move the archive, as they threatened to do, but they're no longer posting new stories.

Hall of Fire
These people used to be a lot more fun before they went and got all dignified and prissy and changed their name. They used to be pervy elf fanciers, and it showed. Now, well, it's kind of boring, but at least the wallpaper border doesn't cover the text anymore. I miss the pervy elves on the splash page, though. They still have fic and galleries, but the site is no longer being updated.

Elf Fetish
Elf fic. Mostly, but not totally, LotR Elf fic. Those elves are slippery little critters. If you ask me, they all ought to be kept on leashes. Very short leashes. What stories those little devils come up with! Imagine, dishonoring Master Elrond in a bathtub. Tsk-tsk. Also, elf images, audio files, a do it yourself MarySue story generator, and my favorite, a flow chart to help authors name their OC elves ("Start Here: Is your character an elf? Yes. No.").

Axe and Bow
I shall set aside my certain knowledge of the One True Pairing that is Legolas/Aragorn long enough to tell you what you need to know about this archive. It's a pretty site -- clean and well organized. It's the archive of the AxeBow discussion forum on Yahoo groups. It has fan art, and links, and character discussions, plus resources for writers. It's an archive of Legolas and Gimli stories, enmity, friendship and -- shudder -- slash. There. I've done my job. Now -- what the hell are these people thinking? Do they have any idea how wrong this is? Legolas, honey, how could you?

Elf n Hobbit
The archive of the Elf n Hobbit group at Yahoo. How many times do I have to explain this to you people? Legolas belongs with Aragorn, period. Their love is pure and everlasting. Why do you insist on throwing pervy little hobbits into that perfect, timeless romance? Frodo? Please. Sure, he's cute and cuddly and winsome, but once you've been had by Aragorn, a hobbit is barely an appetizer.

Melethryn Archive
Elfslash. Stories are indexed by author, pairing, and title. There's also a random fic selector. Hit it, and it picks six fics for you. Reload for six more. I'm not sure it's useful, but it's fun.

So Wrong! The OrcSlash Archive
Not just another slash archive for LotR fandom. This one is brought to you by the folks on the OrcSlash mailing list. Go. Look. Have a good time.

Fellowship
A Boromir/Aragorn slash fan fiction archive. With a gallery, a mailing list, links, and writer resources.

Least Expected: A Tolkien Slash Archive
Archive of the Tolkien slash mailing list. They claim to be the oldest Tolkien-slash list on the net, and they may very well be -- how the hell would I know? And why would I care? I know one thing though -- this site is incontrovertible proof that slash isn't always pretty. I didn't delve into the stories myself, so you're on your own. For your sake, I hope the fics are better than the graphics -- but they'd almost have to be.

Library of Moria
First, the good things. Their opening graphic is lovely, the archive is huge, and it's frequently updated. But... you knew there was a but coming, didn't you? These people may be the wittiest, most talented archivists on the net, but even Gandalf couldn't tell that from their opening page -- tiny neon green font on a black background. The stories, thank goodness, are done in a black font, on a white background.

The darker side of Orlando Bloom based fanfiction
OB: RPS, FPS. The sucky name aside, I like this lj community. But that's probably because it pushes my buttons. Angsty, dark, painful Poor!Orli fic -- fps and rps. Yummy. Torture -- physical or emotional -- is encouraged. No skipping through the flowers stories, and absolutely NO het stories allowed.

Where's Elijah?
An archive of Elijah Wood challenge stories. To understand this archive, you first need to understand that RPS is a bit different than the rest of slash fandom. In RPS, maybe especially in Lotrips, good characterization is getting the haircut right, and canon comes from DVD extras, Google Alerts and the latest GQ photo shoot. As for this site, well, back in 2003, there was a two month period when EW dropped out of sight, so of course... oh, shut it. Like your fandom isn't capable of moments of mass idiocy.

Banalando
OB/EB. An LJ community dedicated to the Orlando Bloom/Eric Bana pairing. And what a pretty pairing it is. A very active community, with lots of delicious fic. It's not actually Lotrips, but it's going in the Lotrips section because I'm not starting a new section every time Orlando hugs another man. Not yet anyway.

Northern Softy
Orlibean. An lj community for people who appreciate the grace, beauty, and snide hilarity that is Orlibean. The community is for Sean Bean/Orlando Bloom fan fic, and welcomes both RPS and FPS fic. Please warn for threesomes and groups --some of us prefer our Orlibean straight without artificial additives. Except Viggo. In this fandom, Viggo's not an additive -- he's a condiment. Or maybe a crouton.

Sigil
Absolutely too weird not to list. This is a small, almost microscopic archive of stories that put the LOTR actors in Neil Gaiman's Sandman Universe. If you haven't been there, I can't explain it.

insatiable
Vigorli. An lj community for Viggorli fic. No fanart, no manips, no teeny-fic. All fic must have Viggorli as the main pairing, although threesomes are welcome, and other pairings are allowed as long as the main pairing is VM/OB.

fellow_shippers
Lj fic community for Lotrips slash. They don't specify slash only, and they don't specifically say no het, no gen, but I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen any het or gen show up here... Nope. Can't remember one.

carefullykissed
Vigorli. An lj community celebrating VigOrli fic. Welcome to a Happy!fic community. Angst-lite is allowed, but only if there's a happy ending. Go ahead, scoff -- we don't mind, we're used to it. Finished? OK, moving on...

vigorleancult
Vigorli. An lj community for anything V/O related. Absolutely no het allowed. Implied het is tolerated, if you absolutely must, but that's it.

Rugbytackling
Fic from the rugbytackling community on LiveJournal, and it's associated Yahoo! list. Slash involving Viggo Mortenson/Sean Bean and/or their various characters. And isn't that a pretty picture.

Perfect Bloom
Orlando Bloom, RPS and FPS. A Relatively new automated archive. Stories are listed by movie and by author. There's also wallpaper, pictures, and links to writer's resources.

bloompreg
RPS, Orlando Bloom. I wasn't there, I didn't see this, and as soon as I finish typing this, I'm going to go wash my hands and scrub my brain. It's an lj community for Orlando Bloom mpreg fic. Fic must be related to Orlando, he must be one of the pairings, but he doesn't have to be the one who's pregnant. Thank heaven for small favors.

Digitalcandy.net
RPS and FPS. LoTR, Lotrips, Popslash, Other. Home to assorted slash, smut, and other tasty snacks. Be sure to visit Pretty When You Cry, an Elijah Wood character torture archive, and Gloria Mundi's fic site. And they host lots of other authors, too.

Slasha, baby!
Yeah, technically, this is part of Digitalcandy.net, and shouldn't need to be listed separately. But as of this posting, the link on their main page doesn't work, and this one does, and you know I'd hate for you to miss anything.

Bloomwood -- House of Pretty
Orlijah. An aptly named site, given the pairing. Have I mentioned lately that I love Lotrips? Not just the stories, the whole damn fandom. This site will give you an idea why. Check out the standard-to-rps disclaimers: "also, we make this shit up. yes." I love it when people get right to the point.

Love & Beauty, Elegance & Strength
Vigorli. Yet another reason to hate I-frames. Don't you just love reading stories in little bitty boxes? One thing this site does have: great links. Not just to the standard web sites -- she has links to LJs that are full of hot Vigorli fic.

Monaboyd.net
For those of you new to -- or totally, willingly, downright gratefully ignorant of Lotrips fandom -- I'll explain the name: it's Dom/Billy slash. That helped, didn't it? But there are other pairings here, too. All I have to say is -- I could tell it's Lotrips. Without looking at titles, names, pictures or pairings I could tell -- there's an orgy listing in the search engine. Go Lotrips!

The I Want Archive
An entire archive of song fic. And it's all the same song. My life is now complete. Let's just put this down to one of those insane, we're-all-in-this-together, warm and fuzzy bonding moments that happen in fandom sometimes, usually during the full moon (See "101 Ways to End Up in a Canadian Shack"), and move on to the next link.

VOLA Slash Archive
This used to be one of the most frequently updated archives in Lotrips fandom, but I just stopped by and they've still got their Christmas decorations up. They do have an LJ community now at volaslash, so maybe that's taking up all their time. I couldn't tell if they accept fic posts on the LJ community or not. There's almost nothing on the user info page, and I saw at least one "didn't know I wasn't supposed to post fic here" post. On the other hand, I also saw several fic posts. Don't miss the link to the Other Vola -- the section of the archive for stories that aren't strictly Viggo/Orli.

Of Elves and Men
FPS and RPS. This is the archive of the LotR Adult Fiction group at Yahoo (list links are provided on the front page). Stories are slash and het, and are sorted by author, by character, and by title. There are very few frills to get in the way of your reading, and they have great links.

Broken Boundaries
Stories are listed by author and by pairing. They also have recommendations, links, polls, quizzes, a cast list, and a handy dictionary, although I'd quibble over a few of their definitions -- archive and badfic, just to name two. The archive is still there, but it's no longer being updated.

Mirrormere
This is the archive for the LotR RPS list, but they also take submissions. The site has a little bit of HP FPS, a little bit of Oz fic, and over six hundred LotR FPS stories right now, but it's going to end up filed under lotrips. They have over two thousand lotrips stories here, and there are more being added all the time. An archive that big needs some wicked organization, and these folks have got it. The stories are sorted by categories, authors and titles, and you can also search by author's pen name, chapter title, summary, or by character, genre, rating, and warning. Or you can enter your own search term. Nifty, huh? Let's go search for 'Orlando' and 'ugly shirt' and see how many hundred stories come up.

Lotrips remix '06
The 2006 stories are up, and the archives go back to 2003. The list of participating authors is a lovely resource; the links go back to the authors' fic pages.

Every Single One
Totally lotrips, no sign of FPS anywhere. The archive is simple, plain, and large. Stories are sorted by author and by pairing. Also, a random pairing generator and lots and lots of links. Unfortunately, the archive hasn't been updated since 2004.

Characters in Bloom
FPS and RPS. Archive of the CIB mailing list. Slash for every Orlando Bloom role. The fic is sorted by role (within the role listings it's sorted by pairing), and by author. Fic containing het or femmeslash pairings is included only if the primary pairing is m/m slash.

Real Vulcans don't need lube...

See tribbles boldly going where no hamster has gone before...

Kirk/Spock Automated Archive
Kirk/Spock -- the classic slash pairing. And the Kirk/Spock pairing must be key to the story, or it will be deleted from the archive. The story must be complete, or it will be deleted. The main categories here are Fiction, Ficlets, Poetry and Essays, and the categories can be searched by author, character, genre, warnings, and ratings. The author link is at the top of the page; click on it and you get the option to search by title, too. The search page adds the ability to search by keyword. It's beautifully organized. Spock would approve.

The EnSTCommunity
ST: Enterprise. Home of the Warp 5 Complex fan fiction archive. Het, slash and gen stories accepted. For any links you don't see on the main page, click on Departments. For anything beyond that, you're on your own. There doesn't seem to be a site map, just a lot of sub-menus. You have to go there to get here. I strongly recommend that you bookmark any page you might want to visit again later. That, or drop bread crumbs. Recently updated.

Better Living Through Trek Stories
All series. An all inclusive Trek archive. All shows, all genres, all pairings, all kinks. No trek is too bold, no universe too unexplored, no whipped cream is too whipped. There are two archives available here -- same stories in each, but one is text versions and one is graphics heavy versions. Very graphics heavy.

Archer's Enterprise
Archive of the Archer's Enterprise group at Yahoo! This one's a little difficult. I don't find it attractive, but that may just be because I'm not overly fond of sky-blue as a color choice. So I'll give them that one. And looks aren't the point, anyway. All the links work, which is always a plus, so I'll give them that one, too. But they lose serious points on navigation. Check out the instructions: "If you are interested in a particular author or pairing, please search for the appropriate string with your browser's Search function." Doesn't that sound like fun? Do yourself a favor and use the title or author listings -- the Monthly Indexes are scary.

Femme Fuh-Q Fest
Do we all know what a Fuh-Q fest is by now? Good. This one's f/f Treksmut.

Cardassia Sutra
A Garak/Bashir slash archive, for your reading pleasure.

The Brunching Shuttlecocks
A great site, and if you look for it, you'll spot the Net's first Enterprise slash fiction. Even if you're not an aficionado of the Star Trek universe, you should go read this one. And then you will go hunt down more and send me the urls. When I count to three you will wake up feeling calm, yet slashy, with an irresistible urge to smear yourself with emu oil and roll in the dust bunnies under the couch. One...two...

ASC Archive
The Official Alt Star Trek Creative Fiction Archive. Can we use alt and official in the same sentence? Of course we can -- we are Fandom, hear us roar. And whimper. And plead. And gasp longingly. Try to save the breathless sobbing for the really OTT h/c stuff.

Novel Expectations
Janeway and Seven fan fic. Plus message boards, reviews, episode summaries, and all the frills and furbelows of f/f fandom.

The Tom Paris Dorm
Het, slash, and gen. Bless their hard little hearts -- they fixed the problems experienced by non-IE users. It's attractive, easy to navigate, and they have over one-hundred twenty links to other Star Trek sites. A great resource.

Force Haven
This archive is primarily Obi-Wan and Anakin fan fic. It's simple and easy to navigate. The extras aren't worth much of your time, but if you're exceptionally bored and want a very small giggle, click on Workshop and check out the Fanfiction Writer's Checklist for "Use of Earthisms" and "Does your story have an end?"

Like My Father Before Me
An archive for Han/Luke and Obi-Wwan/Anakin fic. The only really interesting thing about this one is that it's best viewed in Firefox. The archivist hasn't updated since December, but it's an eFiction archive, so that may just mean nothing has crashed since then.

T.O.T.O.
The Ladies of Slash must hurt young Obi-Wan Kenobi. Really. Don't take my word for it, it says that, right on the site. And from that compulsion spring some very interesting stories. You know, I would have sworn I'd already listed this site. Oops, my bad. Must have been another link page. Well, anyway, it's here now. Enjoy it -- it's clean, easy to navigate, lovely to look at, and full of fun stuff. It's small, but choice.

qui-online.org
Home of the Qui-Gon Jinn discussion list, this site is a treasure chest of confused intent and wish-washy purpose. The 510 stories are suitable for all audiences... unless otherwise noted. But it's pretty, the links work, and yes, Virginia, there is slash here.

The Xanatos Estrogen Brigade
Fic, FanArt, extras. And I can't be the only one who thinks it's way past time to lay the whole Estrogen Brigade thing to rest, can I?

Bail Now!
The Bail Organa fan fiction archive. Het, gen and slash, but mostly slash. I came this close to putting it under rare slash, but I didn't want to have to write all the lengthy explanations that would entail.

Master and Apprentice Archive
Obi-whosit and Qui-whatsits fic. Slash, of course.

The Yoda Estrogen Brigade
I just love finding people who are as sick and twisted as I am -- makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over. This site is a... it's an... uh, words fail me -- Off shoot? Spinoff? Morbid growth? -- of the Sith Academy, which should be all the warning you need.

Elusive Lover
Han and Luke -- love among the light sabers. Bet that smarts.

The Darth Side
TPM and pre TPM 'meaningful erotica.' I like that, I think I'll say it again -- meeeeaningful erooootica.

The Sith Academy
Words won't do it justice, you'll just have to go see this one for yourself. This is where I go when the angst gets a bit too deep. I sincerely recommend that before opening this site you remove all beverages from the vicinity of the computer. Sitting on a towel wouldn't hurt either.

Darth Maul Estrogen Brigade
One of the largest collections of Darth Maul stories on the net. It's no longer the active fan site, but the archive is still there.

Darth Maul Estrogen Brigade 2
Version 2.0 is now open for business.

SWA-L Stars Wars Slash Archive
Definitive proof that an archive doesn't have to show style, personality, or an iota of fun. Maintaining this one would bore the crap out of me, but OTH, it's probably really easy to update, it does have lots of stories, and the stories are what we're here for, right?

The Qui-Gon Jinn Estrogen Brigade
I'm listing this one with reluctance; they've got some serious html problems happening, none of which are helped by the multiplicity of frames. Maybe the site is just dying of neglect -- it hasn't been updated since July 2002.

The X-Files

The Slash is out there...

But Skinner would never
do that,
and Mulder
and Krycek
are really just
good friends.
Aren't they,
Mistress Scully?

Walter Torture
An archive of stories that put Skinner through the wringer, be it physical, mental, or emotional. Stories are categorized as general, slash, erotica, humor, discipline, or miscellaneous. There are also links and a gallery.

Scully Slash Archive
Now this is an archive! It's attractive, it has easy to understand link titles, and the stories are organized by submission date (last 7 days, 30 days, 60 days), by pairing, by author, and by title. And the owner changed the web ring banners on the front page to simple html links, so it loads much faster now.

Author's Choice
X-Files slash writers pick their favorite stories. Wonderful idea for an archive, isn't it? Look in the Buffy and misc links sections for similar archives in BtVS and Andromeda.

The Cube
Do not miss this one -- even if, like me, you're only a fringe Xphile. The people behind the Cube have taken fandom from an interesting, if borderline bizarre obsession, to an artform.

In Our Humble Opinion
There are archives, and then there are... sites like this one. It takes more than collecting a bunch of stories on one site to make an archive -- that's why well trained librarians are so important to the survival of our society: all the information in the world can't help you if it's all thrown into one big, unlabeled pile. The stories here are listed alphabetically by author -- and that's it. For any more information -- all that nonessential stuff like pairing, or rating, or whether it's gen, het, or slash -- you have to click on the story link. It's extremely time consuming, and IMHO, it's irritating as hell.

TER/MA
Truly Erotic RatBoy slash Mulder Association. Actually contains four archives: RatB (mostly Mulder/Krycek plus crossovers), WArm thoughts (Skinner/Krycek), the author archive (old RatB), and The Agency (OaT archive). And all of them are terrific archives.

The Smiling Pectoral God
Gotta be Skinner. Nobody else in X-dom has pecs like those pecs.

XF/SM
Zen sent me this link. Does she know my buttons, or what? If you don't hear from me in a week, send help. Ooooh -- they've got a special category for threesomes! Make that two weeks.

Down in the Basement
Now hosting The M/K Romantics Association, Badfic: The X-Files Hall of Shame, Dana Scully's Slash Angels, and several other tasty X-Files sites. You can probably get anywhere worth going in X-Files fandom from here.

CharlieFic
I don't know this fandom well enough to know if the person who built this site is considered the pinnacle of wit, or if she's the idiot savant of X-Files fandom, but I can tell you that from outside the fandom looking in, this site is hysterical. It didn't just tickle my funny bone, it rolled it in honey and dumped fire ants on it.

Stop, Drop, and Porn
It's an lj community, it's due South, it's basically drabbles, and it's pure porn. Makes for a really short entry, doesn' t it? Let's see if I can flesh it out with anything we can pretend is important. Uh... the info page doesn't say anything about slash, het or gen, but they do salivate when they mention meaningless porn, so let's just rule out gen, shall we? They don't mention RPS, but that may be kind of like the archives that don't mention slash, even to say it's not welcome. Those archives are usually het and slash is icky and if they just refuse to think about the icky it'll slink away and hide in a corner and DIE so they can continue to pretend it doesn't exist and if it does exist in some fandom somewhere it has never existed in their fandom. Sorry -- turned left into an old rant for a minute. It has nothing to do with this community, which is happily enjoying all the porn it can write, which is always a good thing. I'm back now. For lack of any evidence to the contrary, let's assume for now that this community is FPS only. I'm sure someone will eventually correct me if it isn't.

The Due South Noticeboard
A community bulletin board for Due South fandom. If it's happening in the fandom, it's a good bet that it's been announced here: fic, fan art, rabid discussions on someone's LJ, news, etc.

lavender
An ezine-archive focused on the female characters of due South. Fic is gen and slash. It's not been updated since October 2004. The font and color choices make the main pages hard to read, but the story pages are easier on the eyes.

The Welsh Fan Fiction Archive
A very, very tiny archive of fics featuring Welsh. Fics are divided into gen and slash categories. You won't have trouble finding anything -- it's that tiny. The sound files are Quicktime files.

Racine Street
Primarily gen and het, but they welcome slash. Your main problem is going to be that the stories are arranged alphabetically by author, and that's it. Hey -- they fixed their code problems. Looks much better now --works better too.

White Wolf Website
Due South. The Diefenbaker fanfiction archive. I wandered around a bit -- OK, more than a bit -- and as far as I could tell, none of the stories actually slash Dief. Which is either a mild disappointment or a profound relief, depending on your pov and your particular kink. I wouldn't presume to judge. Nope, not me.

Red Ships and Green Ships
A multi-author site rather than a true archive, but it's interesting. Slash fic, and lots of fan art.

Serge Protector
It's the web version of the zine, and it requires Adobe Acrobat Reader. That's not a problem, really. Trust me -- you'd much rather use Acrobat for this: the site is blinding -- a light font on a blazing red-orange background. After a few seconds, the letters start to wiggle and squirm. And no, I haven't been drinking.

Fraser Torture
Exactly what it says -- an archive of Fraser torture fics. It contains ninety fics at the moment. Easy to read and understand story classifications -- het, gen, or slash, with the pairing, if applicable.

due Slash
Slash and pre-slash. No het. No gen. No smarm. No Sir.

The due South Fiction Archive
Otherwise known as Ex-wood. Exactly as advertised, with searchable listings.

Serge -- He got his man!
I'm guessing it's the suit, right? I'm getting the hang of this...that's really frightening.

MRKS.org
Not strictly an archive -- it's a multi-author site. Fifteen excellent authors, writing in multiple fandoms, but what they all have in common is Fraser/RayK. slash.

Speranza's Due South Stories
I know -- it's a single author site. I make an exception for the best of the best.

Xenaverse:

Xena, Warrior Princess

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys

Visiting deities,

The Royal Academy of Bards
Yeah, like Xena fandom needed yet another cool archive. What is it with this fandom? It's so greedy. Why don't some of these talented, hyperactive archivists get bored and wander over to PotC, or Lotrips, or some other fandom where they're desperately needed? Sigh -- fine. Easy to navigate, easy to read, the links work, and it's been recently updated. And I'm not bitter that it's not in one of my fandoms. Well, not much.

The Athenaeum
Do the Xena fans appreciate how incredibly lucky they are? So many of their archivists seem to be first degree anal-compulsives. Stop snickering -- it makes for great archives. Don't believe me? Take a look at this one. If I hadn't already been bitter about Xena fandom hogging all the really great archivists and site designers, I would be now. This isn't just an archive, it's an amazing fandom resource. Not only do they host stories, they have reviews and links to over 4800 Xena fanfics. Reviews are listed by focus, by genre, by author, by title (alternative and general), the Quick Search function actually works, and you can get rid of the white font on the dark blue background by clicking one little link -- instant black font/white background. And if that isn't enough, it's frequently updated. Go away now -- I need to be alone to wallow in my fandom jealousy.

The Bard's Corner
The fanfic section of the Australian Xena Information page, they describe themselves as 'subtext friendly'. OK, somebody check me here -- maybe I just haven't been paying attention, but I've never noticed a lot of subtext in Xena. Text, yes -- up front, righteous, unashamed and not going to apologize to any-fucking-body, in your face text. That part I got. But subtext? What are they saying in the subtext? That Xena and Gaby aren't...? Naaaaah.

The Imperial Bath House
More Xena fic. No Joxer/Gabrielle or Xena/Ares pairings allowed. Presumably, there are people who care.

The Iolausian Library
Hey, they changed their name! Used to be the Hercules Legendary Journeys Fan Fiction Archive. And even better than the name change, they lost the fluorescent green text on black backgrounds. Looks sharp. Looks legible. Looks less likely to give readers a migraine.

Merwolf's Cave
Xena fic extraordinaire. Yes, it's a single author page -- but mousehounde swears by this one, and I always listen to mousehounde.

The KSA Archive
Stories from the Ksithares mailing list. This archive is no longer being updated. The stories all revolve around a character played by Kevin Smith. Including but not limited to Ares, Iphicles, Bacchus, and Timor from HtLJ, XWP, and YH, John Lawless from Lawless, Ricky de la Cruz from F/X, and Lawrence Hayes from Desperate Remedies. OK, this squicks me just a little bit, and I can't figure out why.

Ksares
Archive of the Ksares mailing list. See link above for archive content and related snarky remarks.

Joxerotica
I wish these people would quit moving and just settle down. Lost them, found them, lost them again, found them again. It's getting old. Erotica, slash and het, from the joxerotica mailing list.

Whoosh!
Not strictly a fanfic site, but a fandom experience absolutely not to be missed. Every fandom needs a site like this. If you start one in your fandom, send me the url, please.

C5
This site is attractive, well organized, and packed to over-flowing with all the fandom essentials -- fic, images, vids, episode lists, interviews, and more. One caveat -- there are several links that go to pages noted as being under construction, and they've been under construction for quite awhile. I have to wonder if the archivist's ambitions were bigger than her data files.

Institutionalized
An Oz e-zine. Eight stories in this issue, plus a few rumblings that suggest the publishers and authors might, possibly, be persuaded to do another issue.

Unit-B
In this fandom, do I have to mention that it's slash?

Things that go slash in the night...

No, no, no!

oh, never mind.

Twisting the Hellmouth
This is an archive of crossover stories -- Buffy and Angel versus meet the rest of the fandom universe. They accept fanart and stories, het, gen and slash, but no RPS. This link was an anonymous contribution from someone who apparently knows of and/or shares my not-so-secret love of really bad summaries. "Her heart still heavy from the loss of heaven, Buffy suddenly finds herself in Fangorn Forest. Will Middle Earth become her new home? Will she find comfort in the arms of an elf?" Would I make up something like that? Not when I don't have to.

Down with the Sickness
A small, lonely little archive of Warren/Andrew fics. It hasn't been updated since 2005, but considering that, it's in pretty good shape. Most of the more interesting sites on the links page are either dead or lead to other sites that also haven't been updated in years. It's kind of interesting -- a small side road of fandom, frozen in time. Sad, too.

The Legion of Nerdy Doom Archive
I am so there. Or, here. It's an archive for fanfic and goodies about the BtVS Troika -- aka Andrew, Warren and Jonathan. I'm such an Andrew-girl. He's not bad, he just needs a hug.

spangel
An lj community for absolutely everything Spike/Angel: fics, drabbles, icons, ficathons, videos, manips, and wallpapers. For the fic, Spike/Angel must be the main pairing, RPS is acceptable, and -- I love this part -- "Please post as many kinks and squicks as possible."

loving_angel_69
An lj community for Angel/anything-with-a-dick. No Angel/female pairings allowed, except in very brief, tasteful flashbacks. OK, the brief, tasteful part was my addition. I'm just reading between the lines here, people, supplying helpful interpretations as we go along. Acceptable posts include "fanart (graphics, images, wallpapers, icons/avatars, manipulations, etc), fiction (novels, drabbles, ficlets, etc.), and poetry." For my next interpretation -- no mention of RPS, so it's either an absolute no-no, or they don't give a shit, or they're totally clueless. See, wasn't that helpful?

Angel No Limits
Ready for another Virtual Season? Don't groan, this one's special. There are so many of the supremely talented people from Angel fandom involved in this one, it had to be special. You really don't want to miss this one -- adds, promos, opening credits... and of course, great stories. Comes with it's own LJ Announcement and Squee communities. We are fandom, we must squee.

Secret Slasha
Is there anyone left in fandom who doesn't know what a secret slasha is? Of course. Do I want to try to explain it in twenty words or less? No.

Eternally Yours
Xander/Spike. Stories, fan art, icons, wallpapers and general sillyness with Blondie bear and his leather lovin' playmate. Currently hosting 137 stories by 37 authors. I love it when the archivist gives me that kind of info right up front. It gives me something to fill space with so I don't have to meander on about lack of contrast, and link pages that are all button links, and other petty stuff like that.

Moist and Delicious
Spike/Xander. The archive for the Nummy Treats list at Squidge. It's automated. It has annoying pop-ups. Which by the way, aren't a bit less annoying just because they announce themselves with "Hi. I'm an annoying pop-up." That's funny once.

Impure Things
Graham/Xander slash. I didn't get my copy of the handbook -- how many years does a show have to be off the air before you can stop warning for spoilers?

The Angel Book of Days
ATS: slash, het and gen. It's another theme based archive, and this one's all about seasons. You know, this could be the best collection of ATS fic on the net, but I get little shivers of doubt when every fic on a site is dedicated to someone, and the dedication is listed in the summary, instead of, oh, I don't know... maybe a summary?

fists and fangs
Spike fic! Lovely, bloody, funny, angsty Spike fic! And not just Spike fic, but damned good Spike fic. Slash and het, I'm not sure about gen, although there is a no-pairing category, so it's probably covered. Stories are sorted by author and by pairing, and there are previews and recommendations, links to stories too long for the archive, and -- ok, she lost me here -- a whole page of those crappy, dinky little banner links. God, I hate those things.

Weslic Slash Archive
Archive for the WeslicSlash mailing list. Pure, unadulterated smut. And don't try to tell me that's not what you're looking for.

S-A-G-R-X
Slash stories about Spike, Angel, Graham, Riley and Xander, plus a few Doyle and Giles stories. Stories are arranged by pairing only. Also links and recommendations.

big guns
Graham slash. Archive of the GrahamSlash mailing list. Stories are listed by title, by author, and by pairing, which is cool. The archive hasn't been updated in over a year, which isn't. Poor Graham, don't they love you anymore, Sweetie?

RileySlash
Do not even try to go here in a Mozilla browser. They hate you. They make you strain to read black fonts on a dark grey background. Everything works fine in IE, though.

Wicked & Divine
A Buffy/Faith fan fiction archive. Also has fan art, links, and way too many of those tacky, hard to read, button graphic links.

Buffy Fiction Archive
Slash, het, and gen stories from BtVS and Angel. It's an automated archive, and contains over a thousand stories. Play with the search engine; the search engine is your friend.

All About Spike
A site that explores Spike's ambiguities. I don't know about you, but that's certainly the part of Spike I want to explore. Oh, yes indeedy, let's get a grip on those nifty ambiguities. It's a full service site: fiction (of course there's slash!), essays, convention reports and photos, forums, and a link to the redemptionist store. Let's get back to those pearly ambiguities...

The Adventures of Captain Peroxide and Deadboy
That's Spike/Angel to you. Stories, timelines, images, wallpapers, hotbar skins, icons. Neat stuff -- go take a look.

Days of Our Unlives
Angel/Spike. I have strict, if unstated, limits on the number of single author sites I list on this page, and I never list single story sites -- until now. I'm making an exception because this site made me laugh so hard my ribs ached for two days.

The Darker Side of Sunnydale
If I need to tell you, this is not the place to go for happy endings. Take the name seriously. Contains stories of all ratings. This archive is no longer being updated.

The Bloody Awful Sandlot
Spike fiction from two lists: Bloody Awful and Spike's Salvation. Gen fic, humor, mystery, drama, action/adventure, romance, erotica, parody, and the all important slash.

Shoot me. Stuff me. Mount me.
A place for Giles/Xander afficienados. Several pages of 'extras' are underconstuction, but the stories are there.

Arcebus Caerus: The Dark Palace
An archive for Angel/Willow/Spike fic, and there's a fun quotes page, too.

Unconventional Relationshippers
Get the Scooby gang together and shake 'em up a little. At the UCSL archive, you never know what pairing's going to pop up next.

The AngelSlash Archive
A site for all those who understand why the little blonde bimbo doesn't deserve to lick his fangs. Okay, she's not really that bad. Just send her off somewhere with Willow and Faith so the boys can get down to business...

A Slayer, A Hacker
And this is where Buffy and Willow went when they left the boys alone.

CordySlash
Ahh -- the lovely Cordelia! If you're looking for a role model, you could do worse. This is the archive for the CordySlash list. The owner/owners of this site didn't waste time and effort on frills, but they didn't need to; Cordy comes with her own interior decorator.

Pick an archive

your chances.

Accio Slash Fic
I can't help it -- it looks like a sneeze to me. It's an automated (eFiction) archive for Harry/Draco slash. Beyond that, all I'm going to say today is that I really hope the formatting on the main page is a temporary error, and not somebody's idea of great design. I'll check back later and find out.

Meant to Be
An archive for stories about "a possible romantic relationship" between Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. It's an eFiction script so there are no surprises, and it's been recently updated. Categories are Chaptered stories, Stand-alone stories, and Poetry & Songs.

Detention
Harry/Snape. Dorothy sent me this link, and I really like this archive. Have i ever said that about an HP archive before? Not lately, I'm sure. This is an eFiction archive, but they've added some great extras, and still managed to keep it easy to navigate. Besides the Snarry, they've got lj icons, wallpapers, colorbars, recs, and links to their mailing list and lj community. I can't even complain about the pretty -- they've got five skin selections, all of which are very attractive.

The ETC Archive
Archive for stories from three HP mailing lists, featuring Harry/Snape, Harry/Lucius, and Harry/Sirius. Stories are divided by pairing, then they're searchable by genre, warnings, and ratings. They're also searchable by character, but since they're already divided by pairing, that struck me as a tad redundant. Of course, I just couldn't help myself --I emailed the site owners and asked what ETC stands for. What? Why are you still here? You didn't honestly think I was going to tell you, did you? Why should I go to all that trouble and share it with you? Am I here to make your life easier? Send your own email.

In a second
HP, mainly. Not a slash archive, although there are some slash stories there. No NC-17 at all. This archive hosts stories written in the second person. I don't know what else to tell you. I just thought it was a cool idea. Weird, but cool. I only saw two stories that weren't HP; one was Alias, and the other was American Beauty. Why do I include notes like that? Why? Stupid, stupid, stupid. Now I'll have to keep checking back in case that changes.

hp.pfen.net
Pretty generic archive. Stories are listed by author, title, and category (general, romance, etc.), then are searchable by character, type (crossover, humor, mpreg, prepairing/ust, tragedy, etc.). I thought the best parts were on the info page under 'abuse of site resources.' You already knew I was weird, right?

Snape Mpreg Archive
I wasn't looking for Mpreg archives, I swear it on mousehounde's head. But you find one, and it's got links to another, which has links to... and before you know it you're having sympathy pains. Or in my case, mpreg induced nausea. This one's all about Snape, and it has stories and fan art and polls. The polls are a fun idea -- I voted for the miscarrage.

Ex Libris Snape
What we have here is a combination of a huge archive and links to favorite stories. Some of the stories are on site. Some are on ff.net. Other stories are off site and the archivst doesn't have permission to link to them. Here's the problem -- the archivist has listed these other stories, and provided the URLs, but you have to cut and paste them into your browser. But -- get this -- even with the cut and paste URLs, the story title is a link, just like the titles of the on site stories, but it's a link back to the story index, and -- this is the really fun part -- it opens in a new window. What an interesting design choice. Not.

Dark Shaftings
It's Lucius Malfoy fic, het and slash, and is that a great name, or what? There is a way into this archive, but I'm not going to spoil the aggravation fun you're going to have searching for it. Why should I get all the laughs?

Dark Side of the Moon
Archive for Marauders slash stories. I saw some Slytherins lurking in the corners, too. And watch out --they trap you in frames.

Azkaban's Lair
An archive for Remus/Sirius stories. And a damn good one, too. No fancy html, just tons and tons of stories. Brought to you by a thoughtful archivist -- OotP stories are marked so you can avoid spoilers.

Padfoot Returns
Sirius Black stories, any genre, any rating. Not stories that simply feature Sirius, but stories about him. They're very specific about that.

Harry Potter Rareslash
Stories with rare pairings in HP fandom. Stories are sorted by author and by pairing. Pairing categories include: older generation pairings, younger generation pairings, cross-generation pairings, miscellaneous pairings, and incest pairings.

SnitchFiction.net
These people deserve a medal for honesty. OTOH, it's an automated archive, so maybe they're just unflinching realists. From the FAQ: "What kind of stories will I find at Snitch Fiction? Every kind under the sun. You will find stories so well written you will literally be left breathless; you will also find stories which are poorly written and painful to read. You'll probably find a lot of fic for your favorite pairing; you'll probably find a handful of stories which squick you for life. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly: we have it all."

intellislash
If you're looking for HP fanfic that doesn't read as if it were written by illiterate fourteen year olds, try this site. Plus, it looks good without being so over burdened with cute html gimmicks that it takes forever to load. Maybe you can have it all.

Diagon Alley
An archive for 'slightly older folk.' Good resources and site info. Check out the links.

FictionAlley.Org
On a small web site, you can use cute or witty names for your links and get away with it. Cutesy names on a site this size make it impossible to find anything, let alone find it easily or quickly. But while you're wandering around in confusion, at least you'll have a pretty site to look at.

Kiln Fiction
Brand new automated archive, opened in early July. There's not much there yet, and the only way to get to the fic is through an automated search page. On the plus side -- it's visually unappealing, which is a good thing in this fandom. Very few of the younger HP readers will be attracted to this site. Let's hear it for an archivist with scruples!

The Parapet
Snape/Lupin archive. Stories, screen caps, and FanArt. Non-Snape/Lupin stories are archived under Spice.

The Lockhart Fuh-Q-Fest
As of this posting -- one story. But the festival doesn't close for another week, and I thought Gilderoy deserved his shot, so I'm listing it anyway. For now.

Popslash

If wishes

Mostly Popslash, anyway.
There are a few non-boyband RPS links in the mix, too, but Lotrips has it's own section now.

Oh, stop bitching.
I didn't have anywhere else to put the odd RPS links, and
they were lonely and starting to feel like nobody loved them. There are few things more heart-wrenching than a snively, abandoned RPS link.

sniff

Pop Fic Rec Requests
An LJ community for requesting pop fic recs. Just ask, and they'll give you links to het, gen or slash pop-fics out of their super secret stash. But you have to do it right. This community is for finding genres of stories -- looking for something with cowboys or whipped cream? Or cowboys and whipped cream? This is the place to ask. If you're looking for that particular story about Justin, the cowboy, the whipped cream thong and the roller skates, and you're pretty sure there might have been something about a cactus and two gross of Band-Aids, try over at Pop Star Story Finders

juppy.org
I love sites like this -- several archives and/or link lists under one roof. Boys Like That is NSYNC and Backstreet boys slash. Where the Boys Are is boyband crossover stories. Don We Now Our Gay Apparel has four years worth of Popslash Secret Slasha stories, and there are more crossover stories at Summer of Crossover Love.

The Two of Us
An archive for JC/Lance lovers. Lots of links that don't work. The pictures on the photo page don't load. I couldn't find any indication of when it was last updated. I have no idea which one is JC and which one is Lance. That last one's not their fault.

Just So Pretty
NSYNC. Multi-author site. It's clean, attractive, and easy to navigate, with no frills, just the stories. OK, so it's a short entry. I told you -- it'a clean. They didn't give me anything to bitch about.

shame is good for you
NSYNC. Multi-author page. I know it's not an archive, and it only has stories by four authors. I don't care. One of the authors is Wax Jism, and I'll rec anything she writes, in any fandom, unread.

We Invented the Remix
Speaking of fandom and the full moon... This is the original remix site. It's falling apart. If you want stories off this site, get them before it crumbles away to random pixels. Of course, somebody may pop up at any moment and fix all those broken links. Or not.

Savoy Truffle
More Beatles slash. Sweet fic, Dark fic, links, and poetry. Last updated February 2002.

Alternate Savage Garden Slash Archive
Alternate pairings in Savage Garden slash. Gives a whole new meaning to 'backup band.' Last updated: August 2004.

The RS-X Archive
The RPS archive at femgeeks, archive of the RS-X mailing list. No frills, good links, frequently updated.

The Valley of the Goons
NHL slash. What, did you think all RPS was about boy bands? Wake up! This is slash, and slash ain't always pretty.

Football Fiction Archive
A site for slash fiction about football players. For my fellow Americans: it's soccer, not the NFL.

The Lovely Blue Planet of There
Duran Duran fanfic. Plus art, the always-to-be-dreaded fan poetry section, and something called smooches. No, I didn't look at smooches -- there is a limit to what I'll do for you.

NCIS Fanfiction Archive
NCIS. NCIS fic in a variety of flavors: het, gen and slash are on the menu, along with Mixed Up and Non-English. The het and slash categories are divided by pairings. Close your eyes and repeat after me: no more Gibbs/Ducky, no more Gibbs/Ducky. Don't they know that Ducky/Palmer is the only possible OTP in this fandom? Well, OK, the occasional Ziva/Abby, but that's it.

Schism
H:LotS. Fan fiction for Homicide: Life on the Streets. Still there, but it's no longer being maintained.

Fingerprints
CSI. A Gil/Nick slash archive. Now has 28 fics.

What Makes the Desert Beautiful
CSI. A Nick/Greg archive for fans of CSI. Will somebody please tell these people how useful the categories listing in an eFiction archive can be? With a little effort on the part of the archivist, it can be a great asset. You know what the category listing is here? CSI. Every single story is in the same category. An effortless archive-- for the archivist, anyway.

CSI Forensics: From Out of the Lab
CSI. An archive for stories from all three shows, all pairings, all types. No RPS, no underage. These people do a better job of running an eFiction archive than lots of other site owners. They have 13 categories listed. Of course, they're dealing with het, gen and slash stories for three different shows, which accounts for a lot of them. I won't be perfectly happy until I open an eFiction archive and see categories like "stories Suze will love, stories Suze won't like, and stories no one should ever tell Suze about, at all, under pain of severe sarcasm." I think that's a perfectly reasonable expectation.

Pretty FBI Boys
Without a Trace. An archive for Danny/Martin stories. The updates have their own page now. The opening page now names the fandom, and has actual useful information. but it also has a link to a petition "against the addition of unwanted characters on CBS's Without a Trace." This is so wrong, on so many levels. I'm not even going there. Uh-unh. Back away slowly. Don't disturb the crazy people.

The Circuit Archive
Professionals. Slash done the way The Professionals do it. Amateurs get to sleep in the wet spot.

The Hatstand
The Professionals. This is an archive to make a fandom proud. You can find your stories anyway you want to look for them: by recent additions, by author, by author with spoilers, by title, or by zine. Want drabbles or poems? There's a listing for those too. Want to find (or avoid) AU stories, BDSM stories, crossovers, Christmas stories, rape stories, non-Bodie/Doyle pairing stories, or stories told by another character? Click on Story Lists. And they've got resources -- character info, character bios, episode info, links and glossaries. Also, an update email list and an LJ. The archive is clean, streamlined, easy to navigate, and the stories are in print-friendly PDF format.

C15 Operational Control
New Professionals.Fanfic for The New Professionals. Absolutely goofy. Somebody with an intimate knowledge of html and a lot of free time put up this site. It's very fandom-centric, which isn't a bad thing, and incredibly over produced, which can be. It's got one of those stupid "What name do you want to use on this site?" pop-up boxes, and this one will not go away. The stupid thing keeps following you around, jumping out at you from corners and sneaking up behind you in dark hallways. Learn from my mistake -- talk to the damn thing. Pet it. Feed it biscuits. Give it a name. Any name. Just don't give it mine.

U.N.C.L.E. File 40 Archive
MFU. I've always had a soft spot for Illya. It shouldn't surprise me that Napoleon does too. Oh, sorry, his isn't soft. Formerly the File 40 Slash Page, they've revamped: there's now gen amongst the slash. Actually, it's not amongst -- it's in it's own special quarantine ward. There's no mention of het, though.

The Raven's Lair
MFU. They've got a gallery, a link collection, and a bulletin board. If you're here for Man From U.N.C.L.E fic, then what you're looking for is in the Vault. They've also got every link on the main page listed twice. Once with pretty buttons named Gallery, Gateway, Vault, etc., and once in text to explain what the Gallery, Gateway, Vault, etc., links lead to. At the moment, I'm too flabbergasted to snicker, but I'm sure I'll get over it.

The Chrome and Gunmetal Madhouse
MFU. I love typing that. It's got to be the best acronym in slash fandom. This new Man From UNCLE archive link was contributed by Ashlyn. It's an automated archive for slash fic. The software is standard, and the pretty is spiffy without sacrificing legibility or loading time. There is no FAQ or Help section, so I don't know if they accept anything except slash.

S/H Archive
Starsky and Hutch.Slash for the discriminating Starsky and Hutch aficionados. There's probably gen and het here, too, but I try really hard not to notice those.

Me and Thee Archive
Starsky and Hutch. Over 300 stories by 30 authors, most of them slash. The stories, not the authors. I think.

Starsky and Hutch Fan Fiction
Starsky and Hutch. According to the main page they have gen and slash, there's no mention of het. They may include it under gen -- wouldn't that be an interesting distinction? Or lack thereof.

Starsky & Hutch SVS7
Starsky and Hutch. Seems like virtual seasons are all the rage these days -- here's another one. This site opens on the current season, which is season 7, but there are links back to previous seasons. And do I have to tell you that this is a slash virtual season?

Witness List
Plastic restraints or handcuffs? Good cop or bad cop? Whatever your preference, you'll find it at the Witness List -- a specialty archive for slash fanfic based on courtroom dramas and law enforcement shows. Fandoms include: Due South, Law & Order/Law & Order: SVU, NYPD Blue, The Practice, The Pretender, Profiler, Star Wars, TPM, Twin Peaks, US Marshals, and X-Files

LOSA
An archive for Law And Order, and LO:SVU slash fan fiction.

As the convent gates closed behind Daniel...

Very

SGA Remix Challenge Community
I'm not going to spend any more time explaining what a remix is. If you've been in fandom more than a month or two you already know, and if you're a newbie, then half the fun of tumbling into fandom is figuring these things out for yourself. And I'd hate to spoil the fun the old timers have getting bent out of shape as they watch newbies land right beside the point. What -- you thought fandom was a warm and fuzzy place? Didn't spend much time in Highlander fandom did you? Back on point -- this is an lj community, and it's for Stargate: Atlantis remixes.

Scotch and Canada Dry: Beckett/McKay Slash
An LJ community dedicated to celebrating the relationship between Dr. Rodney McKay and Dr. Carson Beckett on SG:A. All creative work is welcome (fic, art, etc.) all ratings, all genres, so long as it features Beckett/McKay.

The Sheppard/Ford Slash Community
A teeny tiny, very new LJ community devoted to the Sheppard/Ford pairing on SG:A. Anything pertaining to Sheppart/Ford is welcome, but right now it seems to be mostly fic. Not that this is a bad thing.

Atlantis Slash
An LJ community dedicated to all things slashy on SG:A. Any pairing is welcome, as long as it's slash. This is a very large, very prolific community.

Stargate Atlantis Noticeboard
Not an archive, not even a fic community. This LJ community is for posting notices of all SGA stories, recs, fan art, discussion posts, news, etc. It's kind of a It's Happening Right Now Over There, Go Look type of thing. Pretty cool.

Double Treat
I love these people. I want to worship at their feet, bathe their pets and have their babies. The fandom is Stargate: Atlantis, the pairing is McKay/Sheppard. The thing I love about this archive is the category listing. Looking for a particular kind of fic? Tired of the old Gen, Het, Slash, Humor categories? Try these: Aliens made them do it, Anaphylactic/Hypoglycemic shock, Meet the family. And many, many more.

Atlantis Amalgamated
Take a deep breath and try to stay with me. Important fact number one: this is an lj community for SG:A fusions. Important fact number two: a fusion is not a crossover. In a fusion, the -- what do you call them, unexpected visitors, fish out of water, not-created-for-or-in-this-universe -- characters don't suddenly become aware of Atlantis, they've always been in that universe. Important fact number three: some of these stories are funnier than hell, and I think that's even on purpose. Most of the time.

pegasus_gate
A Stargate Atlantis slash lj community. Posts allowed include fic, discussion, fanart, links and recs.

The Comfort Zone
Archive for h/c fic. All ratings, all genres. Includes sub-genres angst and smarm. It hasn't been updated in over a year. I think it probably needs a hug.

The Alpha Gate Archive
Very cool. By this point, you know what that means, right? Attractive and very organized. The archive is divided into three main sections: a gen archive, a slash archive, and a "meridian" fix archive. And I'm sure that if you're in the fandom, that "meridian fix" business means something deep and significant. Each collection is then broken down by pairing, and each pairing is broken down by title and by author. Congratulations, SG-1 fans! This archivist loves you.

The Cartouche
Gen, het, and slash. Very limited search function, but it may be better if you're a registered user. On the other hand, it may not.

Bunnyfic
This is so not my fault. You people send me links so rarely, that when you do I almost feel obliged to list them. All I can tell you about this archive is that it has gen and slash stories, and the front page has an image of two fluffy, pastel bunnies... hugging. You do understand this is not my fault, right?

Feisty Daniel Appreciation Society
Tres cool site. This is not the place to go if you're looking for a clingy, whining Daniel, or a Jack who's in far too frequent contact with his feminine side. These writers are, by their own account, allergic to sugar. The stories are mainly slash, and mainly NC-17. The only rated stories are the ones that aren't NC-17.

Stargate SG-1 Rec-a-Thon
mousehounde found us a treasure, folks. It's not a fanfic site, it's a site for reccing SG-1 fic, and it's absolutely spectacular! Kudos and hot Krispy Kremes to this webmistress: this woman really understands databases. Lots and lots of lovely links, a Stargate Primer, and -- be still my heart -- an on site search engine. Plus, stories are listed by author, by pairing, by genre keyword, by series time frame, by theme and mood (gotta love that one), by rating, and by length in kilobytes. No shit -- length in kilobytes. It's an anal retentive's dream site. I love this woman -- if she'd do a site like this for Highlander fandom, I'd volunteer to bathe her cats!

Area 52: The HKH Standard
A slash fanfic archive for Stargate SG-1 fans.

Heliopolis 2
More Stargate SG-1 slash. Het and slash.

Jack & Daniel's Place
And even more Stargate SG-1 slash.

Comics

Pow! Zap! Slash!

I'm holding
out for the
Classic Comics
version,
but you go
right ahead.

Batman Fanfiction
An lj community for all Batman fanfic -- all genres, all pairings, all rating's, comic-based, movie-based or cartoon-based. They don't care, just bring on the guano. I, on the other hand, have to pick one place to list it, so it's going in comics. Oh, this is so typical -- my spellchecker doesn't like threesomes or fandom, but has no problem with guano. Stupid spellchecker.

DC Slash Fic Index
A very cool and much needed tool. This lj community is attempting to index all the DC comic-based slash fic that was posted to mailing lists. You remember mailing lists, don't you? They ask that you remember this, too -- this is an index, not a recommended reading list.

DC Fic on Livejournal
Another cool and needed tool, related to the site listed above. This lj community is indexing all the DC comic-based fic posted on lj. If you're not familiar with lj, just go to the User Info page and click on the little red heart. Mundo links.

Offpanel.net
Some sites fill screen after screen with details about the site and the archivist, and frankly, I'd rather not know. Some sites don't even list the fandom. This site doesn't waste your time, it tells you where you are right up front: You're at the place Where 4-Color Doodles Do Off-Color Things. There are lots of fandoms represented, mostly comic book based. The links provided on the main site take you directly to the authors' web pages, so listings, descriptions and ratings information varies.

Gay League
From their description-- "an online community for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Transexual, and just plain friendly comic fans, collectors and creators worldwide." The fic links are down at the moment, but visit the online comics created by league members while you're waiting for the fic links to come back up -- it'll be well worth your time. Also forums, reviews, e-cards, fan art, and lots of other features.

Spiderman Slash
Archive of the Spiderman slash mailing list. Under construction.

The Fallen
A Batman fan fiction archive. According to their disclaimers: "This site has some stories that contain sex, violence, drug use, adult language, etc. There is also some slash." I wandered around a bit, and it sure looked to me like there was more than "some" slash. In fact, the fic was mostly slash.

XMen

But... But...

They don't wear tights.
Or capes.

I'm so disappointed.

XMEN: The Movie Slash Archive
Don't you just love descriptive titles? Me too. Don't you just hate sites that are impossible to read? Me too. mousehounde was quite eloquent on that subject when she sent me the link, but even on this page I don't use words like that.

Icicles in the Sunrise
Bobby/Remy slash. Excuse me. Make that romantic slash. How many pairings are there in XMen fandom, anyway?

Logan and Remy
I don't know much about XMEN fandom, but I look at this link, then I look at the one above, and I can't help but wonder... Is Logan a hopeless romantic, a cheating slut, or just another angst-riddled super-macho specimen who can't keep it zipped?

(un)frozen
This site is dedicated to Bobby Drake, the Iceman from the X-Men. The comic, not the movies. The site has a sizeable archive -- het, slash, and gen stories, plus pictures, a character biography, fan art and links. It hasn't been updated in a while, but once in a while it's good to take a look at something that's not the hot fandom of the moment.

The Sentinel

See no Evil.
Hear no Evil.
Smell no Evil.
Have no Slash.

Back by popular demand.

852 Prospect
Take Blair's IQ, multiply it by Jim's boxer size, divide that by the square root of the number of stories where Blair gets Jim pregnant, subtract the average number of calories in a four ounce bottle of olive oil, and you get -- 852. Spooky, isn't it?

The Sandburg/Ellison Romantics Association
Doesn't the name say it all?

The Sentinel Slash Virtual Season
The Sentinel episodes rewritten from a slash perspective. Each episode is available with graphics, or in text only versions. Click on the graphics version, you know you want to.

Francesca's Sentinel Stories
Some of the best Sentinel fic on the net, all on one handy site.

slash scribblings
Sentinel slash by Kass Rachel, and these scribblings are worth every pixel. Also has DS slash, 24, HP, Daria, and Iron Chef. If I didn't desperately need this site here to flesh out the Sentinel links, I'd move it to the Rare section.

My Mongoose E-Zines
"The layout is crappy, it's impossible to find anything, and you have to click through some truly atrocious cover art to *get* to the stories. But it is multi author, all sentinel slash." -- mousehounde
I think mousehounde said it all.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Curse of the
Black Pearl

Dead Man's Chest

At World's End

One of the
prettiest
fandoms
on the net.

They have
some
nice looking
archives, too.

jack & will, savvy?
A community for lovers of Jack/Will slash. And, may I add, a community for readers courting eye strain or migraines. Light yellow font on an orange background. This may be the single ugliest community I've ever had the misfortune to try to decipher. Don't hold that against the fic, though. The color choices and the total lack of contrast I blame on the moderators. That, and no memories.

Pirates of the Caribbean Femmeslash
A celebration of the women of Pirates of the Caribbean. This is a tiny little community, but remember what we said earlier about size? Of course you don't remember. You weren't listening. You never listen. See? Independent validation -- your mom was right about you all along.

Yoho, matey!
Pirate slash, did you have any doubts? Mainly POTC, but all pirate fandoms are welcome, and there are, like, so many pirate fandoms, right? There's not a lot of actual information on the info page, but a bit of judicious investigation revealed fanfic -- some het, some gen, but mainly slash -- screencaps, and various community announcements. Low contrast warning: black font on a bright red background.

Pirates of the Caribbean Fanfiction
An LJ community for POTC fanfic. Slash, het and gen are welcome, but MarySues are not. FPS only, please. It's a large community, and very active -- of course, all of the POTC communities and lists are very active right now.

Norrington Fanfiction
I love archives dedicated to secondary characters. They give a fandom such depth. This one is for stories, pictures, icons, etc. -- any genre, any rating, any length -- that feature Commodore Norrington or Jack Davenport. FPS and RPS are welcome. This is a large, active community.

Captain Barbossa Fan Fiction
It's a small community, but Captain Barbossa probably prefers it that way. You get too many fangirls wandering around and you don't have room to swing a decent cat 'o nine tails. This is a fic only community -- no movie reviews, no rambling squeeage about the actors, please. Fic can be het, slash, or gen, RPS or FPS.

Pirate Hunters
This is a story search lj community for Pirates of the Caribbean. This is the place to go if you're looking for a story you read once and lost, or for story recs -- recs in general, or specific types of stories. Anybody got any good Jack/Monkey recs?

pirategasm
A Pirates of the Caribbean Live Journal fic community. All genres, all ratings. Not a drabble community, but drabbles are welcome. Fic and fanart posts only -- no posts about actors, movie updates, etc.

High Seas
Look! Look! A PotC archive that doesn't suck! You can actually read the damn thing. The links work, the fonts aren't tiny, and the color choices don't make you squint. It has -- dare I say it? -- contrast. Isn't that the most amazing thing you've ever seen? Maybe not -- you might not have suffered through as many really crappy, pretentious and useless PotC sites as I have. The stories here are sorted by author, pairing, title and rating. The archivist accepts art, but there isn't any up yet, and they have links. Links that you can read. Links that work. What a nice archivist. I think I'm in love.

The Lusty Pirate Inn
All the slash stories in this archive are Will/Jack/Elizabeth threesome stories. Not that that's a bad thing... Lots of extras, too: wallpapers, icons, avatars, FanArt, etc. Last updated 2003.

Welcome to the Caribbean
The best thing I can say about this site is that it's still there. It has slash -- 3 or 4 stories now -- het, and humor PotC stories, along with photos, postcards, quotes, jokes, and quizzes. It tries to do everything, and does none of it well. Let me show you something -- a sample from the joke section: "If Captain Jack Sparrow isn’t Captain Jack Sparrow who is he? Whoever the hell he wants to be, a priest for example." It still plays wave files at you, and it's still on geocities.

The Blacksmith's Pirate
This site has improved tremendously. They fixed their problems, everything is legible now. There are FPS and RPS stories available, but even more impressive are the extras: an amazing image gallery, character biographies, quotes, *all* of Will and Jack's dialogue, and some interesting multimedia stuff to explore and download.

Elke's Pirates of the Caribbean Recommendations
Not an archive -- and you know how I reluctant I am to list non-archive sites -- but at this point, I'm feeling kind of sorry for the folks in PotC fandom, and I don't want to leave them empty handed. Elke's compiled an easy to read, easy to use list of PotC resources, including links to FanArt and fanfic. Most of the stories she links to are in live journals or on individual web sites, not in archives, which is pretty smart of the authors, considering the poor archiving choices they're being offered in this fandom so far.

Magnificent Seven

Slash,
with guns
and horses.

I don't think
that came out
quite the way
I meant it,
but the
alternative was
Ride 'em Cowboy, and... well, really. Even I have lines I won't sink beneath.

Drinking 'n Fighting
The archive, official even, of the Drinking 'n Fighting mailing list. This one's for devotees of the Chris Larabee and Buck Wilmington pairing. Some Gen, mostly slash. They've got good authors and one of those "here's what's happening with the archive" front pages. They've also got some quaint, more than likely temporary, formatting problems on the main page. That, or the incredible disappearing pixel is the Next Big Thing. Elanor sent me this one, just before I disappeared into RL hell. Thanks, Elanor.

Tar 'n Feathers
More Mag7, contributed by Elanor. This one is Vin Tanner and Ezra Standish slash. Elanor says this one's dead, and since she did the skin, I guess she'd know. Enjoy it until it rots and the dessicated corpse turns to dust and blows away on the prairie winds, tumble weeds tumbling into the sunset, bouncing off the odd cactus on the way... Let's just pretend I covered all the tacky cliches and we can move along.

Death Dog's Tourist Guide to Magnificent 7 Fan Fiction
A selective listing of Mag 7 stories. Scroll Down. All the way down. There they are -- the links. Since this is a rec site, not an archive, you might want to scroll slowly on your first visit and read what they have to say about how and why they chose these particular stories. Stories are sorted by category and by character, and there are listings by author and by title.

The Magnificent Seven Fan Fiction Adult Archive
Stories are listed by title and by author, and there's a search engine. The site hasn't been updated since October of 2003, but all the story links I clicked on worked just fine.

assignations
A multiple author page. Several fandoms are represented, but what all the authors have in common is Mag 7.

Archive from the M7 Power Exchange List
Stories are sorted by author, by title, by series and by pairing. Technically, this is part of the assignations site, but it just felt like it needed it's own listing, so here it is. Please, read the warnings at the top of the page. Not because I think there's anything here that's going to send you screaming from the room -- although a few of these stories may curl your hair -- but because I have a real weakness for great disclaimers.

Phoenix -- Michael Biehn Archive
FPS, Michael Biehn. If you're not up on your fandom acronyms, this is Fictional Person Slash. Repeat -- this is not an RPS site. All the fan fiction is based on Michael Biehn's TV and film roles. There are also wallpapers, screensavers, stationary, picture galleries, and most importantly, a large archive of Mag 7 Chris Larabee stories. The stories come in gen, het and slash varieties.

M7Slash.Com
Magnificent 7 slash, and may I say, this is the most attractive automated archive I've ever seen, and I think I've seen most of them. Also, lots of goodies for downloading: interviews, video clips, icons, and coming soon, music vids and FanArt.

The Magnificent Seven ATF Archive
An AU archive for Mag 7. All stories are set in the universe where the boys work for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Fire Arms. Hasn't been updated since 2003.

The SorkinVerse

Sports Night
The West Wing

The master
of
male-bonding
brings us
shows that inspire more
femme slash
than
Wonder Woman.

That's bonding, not bondage.

Although,
when you think
about it...

The Sports Night Fanfiction Archive
Sports Night. The archive at Trickster is gone, never to return I'm told, but this LJ community is attempting to archive the new Sports Night fic, and they're also trying to get the authors to post their previously pulbished fic for archiving. All categories are welcome, including Gen, Slash, Crossovers, AUs, Drama, Humour, Angst, H/C, Romance, Series, Drabbles and Ficlets. Personally, I think drawing a line between two categories where the only difference is, literally, the word count, is a distinction without a real difference. But that's the kind of debate that makes fandom alternately roaring fun and a raging hell. Where ever they've been, and whatever categories they're using, I missed them and I'm glad they're back. And we have Hilary to thank for the link.

The Spin Boys
Sports Night, West Wing. Hilary sent me a link to another Sorkin-verse LJ community. Go, Hilary. It's yet another place on the web we can gather to celebrate amazing pace, great scripts, and the best tracking shots on television. Oh, and male-bonding. Mustn't forget that part. All pairings and ratings are welcome. Off topic posts are not.

Amy/Donna Shippers
West Wing. An lj community for Amy/Donna fic. Acceptable posts are fic, icons, challenges, wallpaper and discussion of subtext.

Doctor Who/
Torchwood

The Doctor
and
Captain Jack
make a
lovely couple

A Teaspoon And An Open Mind
Doctor Who. An open archive -- gen, het, slash. All doctors. All Eras. All ratings. And they've got a lovely search engine. Also essays and links to LJ communities. I'm a bit disappointed, though. I couldn't find any Fifth Doctor/Davros slash.

Doctor Who Slash
Doctor Who. An lj community for the discussion and posting of fanfic (slash only, please, no shippy fic), fanart, drabbles, epics, images, wallpapers, and anything else that's Who-ish and slashy.

Torchwood Slash
Torchwood. A very large, very active Torchwood community. Stop by here and try your hand at fic, art, discussion, icons, and almost anything else Torchwood. Even a bit of het, as long as it's not the main focus. Get that slash in there, too, or keep your hands off. Or hand, as the case may be.

Jack in Cuffs
Torchwood. Land in this LJ com for darker, more explicit Torchwood fanfic. Yummy. They allow fic of any rating. They don't demand smut, but it does seem to be the preferred flavor. Again, yummy.

doctorslashjack
Dr. Who/Torchwood. A het-free fic and discussion community. The Doctor and Jack do make a lovely couple, don't they? Let's get a show of hands on that.

Miscellaneous

Fandoms that
don't have
enough links
to fill their
own section
end up here.
Poor little things.
Obviously, someone in these fandoms needs to send us links.
Even mousehounde can't be everywhere.

TMNT Adult
TMNT. A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles community for adults. Seems that just about anything is allowed -- with the proper warnings, and lj cuts -- except obnoxious behavior. Isn't it a shame that has to be spelled out in an adult community?

Turtlecest
TMNT. TNMT slash fanfic and fanart. This community is for slash amongst the turtles. And yes, I typed that with a straight face. Their banner is too big for the page. Way too big. That's probably deeply significant, don't you think? They have a mod who does the memories, and another who does the tags. I like these people.

Turtleslash
TMNT. Slash yes. Turtles, yes. But absolutely no turtle on turtle fics are allowed here. Really. And of course, the banner is too big. Somebody stop me -- I'm having way too much fun with this fandom.

Slashing NBC's Heroes
Heroes. A Heroes slash community. They don't prohibit het, but the main pairing of all stories must be a slash pairing. It's not a hard requirement to meet -- this show has more slash pairings than Lotrips fandom. They list all the stories under memories by pairing. You know that seeing that made me all warm and tingly, right? Somebody give the moderator a cookie.

Heroes Fiction
Heroes. A Heroes community for all genres of fan fiction, including slash, femslash, het, gen, and RPS. No discussion posts. No question posts. No unapproved community advertising posts. No whining posts. OK, that last one was me. One interesting thing -- for a community with over 800 members, there are very few stories listed in the memories. Hopefully the moderator either just started categorizing, or better yet, there's so much fic they got over whelmed. In fandom, hope springs eternal.

Life on Mars Fans
LOM. This Life on Mars lj community welcomes anything related to the BBC series: screencaps, icons, squeeage, and lovely, lovely fanfic. Yes, I peeked, and most of what I saw was slash.

VeronicaMarsFic
Veronica Mars. A Veronica Mars lj fanfic community. All genres welcome, but no drabbles, please. Thank you, oh kind and mighty mods. No chatter, no squee. All posts must be fic, or announcements of ficathons or challenges. If you're looking for VM fanfic, this community is huge, well moderated, and very active. All fic posts are listed in them memories by author.

Simply Fanfic: The Young Americans Fanfiction Archive
TYA. The WB cancelled this series after seven episodes and the pilot, and there's an archive. Go fandom. Did you see this show? Me neither. Have you heard of it? Me neither. Stories are listed by pairing, by author, and by rating (slash, adult and other -- due to the way they've listed it, I'm assuming other is a rating). Resources include episode summaries, episode transcripts, and short character sketches.

Gilmore Girls Slash Archive
GG. This is the archive for the GilmoreGirlsSlash group at Yahoo. Stories are listed by author and by pairing. There's also a section for crossovers, but I didn't spend much time in that one. I'm not sure I'm strong enough to read a Gilmore Girls/Sin City story.

theoc_slash
OC. They like The OC, they like slash, they like pretty gay boys. And if you don't, leave them alone. I love sites that are straight forward and unashamed. This community is on lj, and all slash pairings and discussion are welcome.

Just Jack
Dawson's Creek. A fan site for fiction about Jack McPhee. The stories are sorted into four categories: Angst, Jack & Jen, Romance, and NC-17. Most of the links work, it's easy to navigate, and there's a fair amount of fiction. The extras were kinda scary -- I'm never going back to JackLand.

Notes From the Underground
Tour of Duty slash fanfic. Also an image gallery, vid clips, and character information.

Firebase Ladybird
A Tour of Duty fan fiction archive. They say 'the' instead of 'a,' but given the link above, we know there are at least two. Slash, gen, and het. Also fan art.

The Alias Slash Archive
Very small, and it hasn't been updated since 2004. It's also the last of the working Alias links. Somebody remind me and I'll see what I can find on LJ, which is an entire rant in itself which I won't get into here, except to say -- please don't archive your fic in only one place!

Bizarre Love Triangle
Big Wolf on Campus. What can I say about a site that misspells it's own name in the title tag? It's pink. It has hearts. Not heart, hearts -- with an 's'. Graphic hearts with little pink pictures in them. On the pink background. Isn't that sweet? Northlight sent me this one -- she should have known better. There's no way I could take this seriously. It's pink.

The Kermit/Peter Slash Archive
Archive for Kung Fu: The Legend Continues. Specifically, for Kermit/Peter. I just thought I'd throw that bit in because you never would have figured out the pairing by yourself, would you? Just being helpful. It's a small archive for a small fandom. Stories are categorized as Gen, PG, NC-17, and Challenge. It's also been updated recently.

Harsh Realm
Beware the frames, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Well, ok, it's not the Jabberwock, but these people are almost as insane. They they seem to have fixed the browser eating frames. The fandom is Harsh Realms, and the fic is slash, of course.

Andromeda Uncovered
Bills itself as the largest collection of Andromeda erotica on the net. Is it? Hell if I know. It has categories for m/m, f/f, het, orgy/multiple pairing, crossovers, and miscellaneous.

Enemies and Allies
The last, best hope for Babylon 5 slash. Yeah, right. I just don't understand why there isn't more slash in this fandom. This archive has a few slash pairings listed. It hasn't been updated since 2004, so don't hold your breath for more.

The Lurker's Den
One more shot at Babylon 5. This one has at least got a slash section, and it has five whole stories. This is so depressing. Great show -- bad fandom. I could just cry.

Delusions
Babylon 5. Whine long enough and someone will answer. Flutterbye and an anonymous donor sent me an honest to god Babylon 5 slash archive. It's strictly for Marcus/Neroon slash, and it's alive! As in recently updated. You have no idea what this means to me. I had just about given up on this fandom.

Batgirl Beyond
A BoP archive, it accepts gen, het and slash. There's not much here, and since it hasn't been updated since January 2003, I don't expect to see much more here in the future. But it's awfully pretty.

Days Slash
Days of Our lives slash. I just list 'em people.

BBQ Bob's Sex Wax Emporium
This is why you come here, right? Of course it is. Who'd want to miss something as deliciously special as BBQ Bob's Sex Wax Emporium? Which, by the way, is Diagnosis Murder, Jesse/Steve slash. This site was sent to me by Ami, the same person who sent me the SG-1 Bunnyfic archive. She's redeemed herself, hasn't she?

Seeking Grace
Everwood. Includes fan fic, screencaps, episode transcripts and more.

Firefly's Glow Archive
Firefly. Slash, het, and gen, but it appeared to me to be mostly slash.

Serendipitous
Firefly. Archive of the firefly-improv list. Archive entries are answers to the list's bi-weekly challenge. The site has an exceptionally nice link page.

JADFE Archives
Forever Knight. All genres, all adult, but I find it hard to trust an archivist who centers the text and starts the main page with "To satisfy the legalities..." Hey! This is fandom! Satisfy my prurient, twisted lusts and keep the legalities in the closet where they won't scare the faint-hearted. And they've got an opening page that's absolutely... twitchy. No, really -- it's literally twitchy. Fine, don't believe me.

The Gargoyles Fan Web Site
Everything for the well rounded Gargoyle fan, I suppose -- I wouldn't really know. I don't know that many well-rounded people, and I only know one Gargoyle fan personally. This one's here simply because it's one of the most well organized fan sites I've ever seen.

Frigging in the Rigging
Horatio Hornblower slash, pics, links and other goodies. Somebody tell me -- is het fic in this fandom all in AUs?

Beyond Land and Sea
More Horatio Hornblower stories. Het and slash. Very small archive.

Slash Mutant X
Slash archive for Mutant X. Small, new, just over 100 stories.

The Agency
This is the Once a Thief archive at RatB (the folks who brought you TER/MA), And do these people know how to do an archive, or what? Stories, fan art, an episode guide, wallpaper, writer's resources, and who knows what else. It's FANDOM.

Monkees, In My Head
Monkees slash. I still have issues with this site. It loads faster, but it's still ugly. I take that back -- it's not ugly, it's tacky. And not in a good way.

Mmm...Doctor!
ER slash, mostly femslash. Stories are sorted by... haircolor? Lots of broken or under construction links.

Fire and Ice
More ER femslash, this one's for Kerry and Sandy stories.

A-Slash
A-Team slash, archive of TheA-Slash mailing list. Well done site, attractive, fast loading, and not automated, which is always a plus. Great links -- great for slash writers in general, not just A-Team fandom.

The MKC Blacknet
A SWAT Kats fanfic archive. The archive is divided into two sections, the Clean BlackNet and the Adult BlackNet. That's pretty clear, isn't it? I wandered around the adult section long enough to be amused by the crossovers: Mighty Ducks TAS, Thundercats, Gilligan's Island, and Highlander, among others. Highlander? Well, OK. I can understand Richie being seduced by a Hanna Barbara character, but... I don't have to watch, do I?

The Aurora Journals
Het, gen, and slash fic for The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne.

The EVEN MORE SECRET Adventures of Jules Verne
Their entry page asks if you mind an occasional dose of more hurt than comfort. Who? Me?

RGBS
Archive for the Real Ghost Busters Slash list. There really is slash out there for every taste, isn't there? So -- where's the Bullwinkle/Rocky slash?

Angel Island
Slash archive for Poltergeist the Legacy. Pay attention, this is important -- you can't get to the stories by clicking on the link labeled 'Read the Stories.' Click on 'Read About the Authors,' and sneak up on the stories that way.

DAFF
The Dark Angel Fan Fiction archive. Gen, het, and slash. A well done site, which in my lexicon means it's attractive without sacrificing readability or logical organization. Stories are indexed by genre, by pairing, and by keyword. And there's an on site search engine, too.

The Witchblade Fan Fiction Archive
Het, Gen, and Slash. Stories are only sorted by author, and they use -- shudder -- frames. You know, you need a really compelling reason to justify putting your readers through the agony of frames, and I don't see one here. Not that it matters in this case -- this archive is no longer being updated. What's there now is all you're going to get.

Slightly Left of Venus
A Roswell femslash archive. I love this site design. It's very plain, very clean. It has an interesting Forbidden Planet as designed by June Cleaver kind of flavor to it. The stories are sorted by author, by title, and by pairing. They also have links. Nice, easy to read links, not a crowd of crappy little impossible to read banners. Good for them.

Roswell Slash Archive
A clean design, easy to read and navigate, and they've got some great links. Oh, yeah, they've got slash, too.

Knight Rider: Phase Two
nan sent me this link. nan is just too weird for words. A boy and his car -- the possibilities for really bad jokes are endless: "God, you're tight! I love your hot, sexy tailpipe!" "OH! OH! Give me some gas, baby! Rev me, baby! Rev me! That's high octane loving!"  Is this slash, or just the ultimate male fantasy?

Across The Pond
QaF. Archive for Queer As Folk fanfic -- the UK and US versions. The site also has episode recaps for both versions, a multimedia section, e-lists, banners, and lots more.

BJFic.net
QaF. An eFiction archive for Brian/Justin fic. It's large, over 2400 entries, which presents some organizational challenges that the archivists have handled quite well. The categories are Fanfiction, Holiday fic, Drabbles, etc., Poetry, Essays and Fic of the Month, with most of the entries (over 2200) appearing in the Fanfiction category. So to break it down further, you can also get listings by author, title, series, date (most recent), featured stores, challenges, and -- I love this one -- the Tens. That's the ten largest series, the ten smallest series, the ten most reviewed series, the ten favorite series, the ten most prolific authors and more. In total, there are eleven Ten lists to choose from.

The Moonshadow Tribe
QaF. Take two aspirin and don't email me in the morning. Everything on this site either flashes, or spins, or rotates, or blinks at you, even the wallpaper. They bill themselves as a multi-fandom archive, but they're bluffing. There's the odd non-QaF story here and there, and they've got what appears to be an impressive fandom listing, but don't be fooled -- except for QaF, there's rarely more than one story per fandom.

SmutScape
This is a gorgeous site. Beautiful images, good links, and it's quick loading. Oh. It's Farscape smut. I'm supposed to tell you that, too, aren't I?

Farscape / Archive
An automated 'slash only' archive for Farscape. I think I've finally figured out why I have a bias against automated archives: too many of the people who upload stories don't know how databases work. They either don't select enough options when categorizing their story and you miss out on it, or they're desperately afraid someone will miss the opportunity to read their precious little story, so they select all of the available options and every search pulls it up.

Exodus From Genesis: Leviathan
More Farscape smut. It's another automated archive, but the archivist seems to be paying attention. Interesting search options. I backed the link up one step to bring you in at the main resource page instead of the actual archive -- there's stuff here you shouldn't miss. For instance, if you aren't currently a fan of Farscape, and don't want to get sucked into a new fandom, then by all means, don't try the random quote generator.

The Avon/Tarrant Page
More Blake's 7 slash. They've got listings for Avon/Tarrant, Vila/Tarrant, Tarrant/Other, and Multiple Pairings. I'm guessing Tarrant's the slut in this fandom, right? They've also got pretty little pink hearts. Why are you just sitting there? You can move on -- I'm not going to say anything about the pretty little pink hearts.

The Quantum Leap Slash Archive
I think mousehounde supplied this link just to see how many bad puns I could make about slash and 'leaping into' someone. Too many to count, all of them really bad. I'll spare you.

Got a great link we missed? Send it! Is one of the links broken? Let us know. Broken links don't make our toes tingle the way new links do, but we appreciate the thought. Is your best friend sniveling on your shoulder because we said mean, snarky things about her site? Not our problem. Pat her on the shoulder, buy her a beer, and tell her that her site doesn't suck. It probably does, but it's your job to lie to her about it, not ours.
